COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS: STING

September 23, 1997 - Associated Press

By Darrill Holly and Natalie Windsor

(NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE)--Sting figured he'd written the perfect county song, that's why he wanted to record it with Toby Keith. The two musicians will sing their duet "I'm So Happy" on the C-M-A Awards show tomorrow night. Sting will play base as he fronts an all-star band for the performance. The five musicians backing up Sting and Keith on the song are the nominees for Musician of The Year. The category honors the back-up players who put the rhythm and the melodies behind the hit ballads of the stars.
