Teatro Ariston - San Remo, Italy [Festival]

by Giovanni on February 27, 2000

Hi everybody from Giovanni in Milano, Italy! Sting performed last night in San Remo at the Festival; he sang 'Desert Rose' with Cheb Mami (playback), and the band was Joe's band (his son band), where Joe played drums.

He really did say anything; the presenter only said he was absolutely grateful because Sting accepted to be at the festival, telling he would be at 'Quelli che il calcio' on Sunday (today).

No special questions, and no words from Sting; no politic issues (this happened with Bono), only music and Sting presence, absolutely smashing I have to say; he looked brilliant, with leather trousers and a black/transparent pullover; my friends said he was really sexy (and so do I...).

You all got to have this recording!

Bono made politic! He was great anyway (I used to follow U2, a lot), sang 'All I Want Is You' and the new track live acoustic; his voice wasn't so good, but his image is incredibly powerful; he was wearing blue glasses, short hair, black dressed. By the way, I once kissed Bono in studio, while U2 were recording 'Where The Streets Have No Name'; those were good times!

Today Sting was in Nice to film 'After The Rain Has Fallen' and 'Quelli che il calcio' made some interviews while Sting filmed the video (funny interviews).

Anybody interested in swapping Italian video stuff with recording from USA & Germany (from September 1999).
