Paradiso - Amsterdam - The Netherlands

by Martin Nickel on March 11, 1996

At the second night we decided to go to the balcony. I was the first person on the balcony and took a place right above the stage. We saw many of our friends waving in front of the stage. The tracklist was the same as the night before. At the beginning he did a small conversation with a scottish guy on the balcony not far away from me. But that was all he was talking. The quality of the show was better than the first night and we could see the great light performance of some songs (specially "Fields of Gold") that we havenīt seen the night before, standing in front of the stage.

After the show we had some drinks with our friends at the Leidseplain, near the Paradiso. Then we went back to the hotel but we couldnīt sleep after all what happened.

The Band:

The tracklist:

  1. If I Ever Lose My Faith In You
  2. If You Love Somebody Set Them Free
  3. The Hounds Of Winter
  4. I Hung My Head
  5. Let Your Soul Be Your Pilot
  6. I Was Brought To My Senses
  7. You Still Touch Me
  8. Seven Days
  9. Fields Of Gold
  10. Twenty Five To Midnight
  11. All Four Seasons
  12. I'm So Happy I Can't Stop Crying
  13. Synchronicity II
  14. Roxanne
  15. The Bed's Too Big Without You
  16. Englishman In New York
  17. This Cowboy Song / When The World Is Running Down...
  18. She's Too Good For Me
  19. Nothing 'Bout Me
  20. Lithium Sunset
  21. Fragile

That was a great weekend in Amsterdam we will never forget.

Thank you, Sting and Band!

Here is just a short review about the two shows Sting performed at the Paradiso in Amsterdam last weekend.

The capacity of this venue (which used to be a church) is about 1,000. The setlist on both nights was almost the same as the setlist at The Academy. The only difference was the fact that "Valpara(d)iso" and "La Belle Dame Sans Regret" weren't played!

The four backing singers (Monica, ?, Dolette and Janice) performed their last show with Sting here in Amsterdam, because they won't be present during the rest of the tour!

On Saturday Sting, Dominic and Vinnie visited the fanclubmeeting at a small bar (capacity: 100) near Paradiso from 1.00pm to 1.30pm!!! Acoustic versions of "Lithium Sunset", "Message In A Bottle" and "I Hung My Head" were performed. Sting also took time to answer some questions.
