Well tonights show was wonderful x 10. The set didn't change (as if you're surprised) but as normal there were a few little silly things that were different. The night started off in the bar... vodka number One.
We were smack bang in the middle of the front row again tonight.... I know ...I know.... poor me!!
Sting asked if anyone fancied proposing to anyone tonight, I said no, he said why ? and I said I know better ... conversation with a Sting.
Tonights show was recorded on BBC radio, and will be broadcast on the 8th of April.
Well thats tonights show, as far as the appearances of the clan, tonight we had the Italian bee's, Tina, James from Minneapolis (doing his duty for the rainforest) Paul the nutcase, Deborah, Kimberly, Alain (Yes Karel I met him, lovely guy too) There was a very very very beautiful woman (Girl, er...person) on the left side of the stage that made half the night for me also... actually the two dancing beside me were beautiful also, but Debs didnt like them as they stopped her from dancing...but I think she was just getting annoyed with Jeremy the flirt. There was also nice pirate shirts outside tonight.... why is it that the fakes always look better than the official ones.
Thanks for coming... thanks for listening.... and er well see you again tommorow, and the next night..and the next night, and well even the next night.... ok and then the next night... and the next... I think you get the picture....
Benjamin and Karel were missed tonight.....
Hi to everyone who was there at the RAH in London on Mon 27th & Tue 28th March.
It was really good to meet some of the fans, I was so surprised to see that fans had come from all round the World, some dedication eh!
Hi to Wanda Stone from New York, Guido & Barbara from Italy, Norna (sorry if I have mis-spelt) from Portugal, Diana from Holland, Hope you all enjoyed the show and nice to have met you all.
What a Fantastic show by the Genius his Royal Holiness Sting !
Just read Jeremy's report, just realised he was standing right infront of me on the 2nd night, so that's you Jeremy with the long hair?
Jeremy that was a funny report!! Just to add some of the drama after the 1st show, the Italian Clan (you know who you are) + Wanda, Diana and many other fans were waiting to see Sting on a very cold night.
Eventually we were rewarded after waiting for just over an hour before he came out, we manage to get Autographs & Photos, we manage to see Trudie speaking some Italian, to the Italian fans (I think she was talking about food !!), Miles serious as always floating around trying to get everyone in their cars, Cheb Mami happy to sign autographs, Sting surrounded by the fans signing autographs, I managed to get Sting, Cheb and Miles. Did not see Dominic however the other band members were all there. They all look pretty buoyant, Kipper seems to have a good sense of humour. The session lasted for around 5 to 6 minutes and then they were off.
On the 2nd day, there were just the few of us, the Italian clan, Wanda & Diana, so we were waiting in hope to take good photos and autographs. We had a quick chat with Jason Rebello, I asked him if he is going to jazz things up for the next show, he said if I'm allowed to!
It turned out to be disappointing as earlier we saw Miles darting round looking very somber, I thought to myself he is going to sneak Sting from another entrance. We waited and waited, as some of the other guest coming out were saying that he had already gone. In the end we were a little disappointed but all in all Sting gave us a great show.
For those of you I met at the show it was really good to see you and hope we meet again.
Enjoy the rest of the shows as some of you are staying on.
Just got back to Houston last night from the first three spectacular shows at the Royal Albert Hall. I'm suffering from a little Sting withdrawal, so I decided that now would be a good time to write a little something about the shows.
Like Kipper, it was my first time to be at the Royal Albert Hall, which in itself was very impressive, except for the bathrooms! It was especially great to be right at the front at all three shows too. All three shows carried the same setlist, which has already been posted so I won't repeat it here.
Great energy on the first night. Everyone was excited and you could totally feel that excitement all around. One of the highlights of the evening seemd to be the proposal in the balcony--especially for the two people involved. For myself, and I think for most of the hardcore fans in the front, it was the appearance of Cheb with his "mini Cheb" on the darbouka for Desert Rose. However, the "mini Cheb" is in fact larger than the actual Cheb, so isn't this a bit of a contradiction, Jer?!? Excellent show in all, and a perfect primer for the ones to follow.
If the first night was great, the second night was great to the power of 3! Sting seemed much more relaxed and the band seemed more confident. Sting's voice was superb and he had more interaction with the audience than he did on the first night. Cheb and "mini Cheb" were back for Desert Rose, to the delight of everyone. Chris moved around the stage considerably more than on the first night. Sting and Chris held the final note of Tomorrow We'll See for a blissful eternity, each seemingly trying to outlast the other. Very nicely done.
The third night was every bit as good as the second night. Sting's voice was in fine form. Jason had his pop star get-up on with the wig. Unlike the first two shows, security wouldn't let people come up to the front until after Every Little Thing... after which they had no choice! Cheb and mini Cheb were on again. Even though Jeremy is a little bored with Seven Days, I have to say that I like it a lot--a sure-fire crowd pleaser which always sounds good. Sting outlasted Chris' trumpet at this show on Tomorrow We'll See and grinned with satisfaction at having done so. Another truly great show ... too bad I probably won't be at the others.
It was great to meet so many new people - Lydia, Stina, Paul, James, Graeme, Alain, and many others, all of whom I hope to see at the Jazz Fest! And Jeremy, thanks for talking me into staying!!
