City Parking Lot - Korbach, Germany [Korbach Festival]

Last night we saw Sting in Korbach and we can say it was *VERY* disapointing:

- poor sound

- poor set list (only changes in the order, some songs missing)

- poor playing (lot's of mistakes)

- poor audience (they really liked that shit)

We'll really keep our fingers crossed for you guys in Verona tonight...

The big news for all of you is that Dominic has cut his hair. When he entered the stage nobody recognized him in the first moment. We can't say he's looking better now but at least you can see his face now.

Our impression was, that the band had not rehearsed very much. The songs came very rough and they made many mistakes.

Pete, the trombone player, was not very integrated and it looked like he was not well instructed about the show and the dance parts. Sometimes he looked a little bit lost, not knowing what's going on...and he had his problems to follow this weasel Butch.

We were on Dominic's side and had some fun with him. Tom always showed his sign with "WE WANT "I BURN FOR YOU"" to him. Sting noticed it too and his reaction was simply shrugging his shoulders. Not that we expected that he directly joined into "I Burn For You" but this reaction? Didn't he know the lyrics, the bassline? Next time we will be better prepared with a lyricssheet and the bassline. Won't we, Tom? Dominic seemed to had more technical problems as usual.

Here some facts about the concert:

Korbach is in the state Hessen in Germany and Sting's show was part of a big public party. The concert was on a parking place with about 11.000 visitors.

The setlist (thanks to Rogier):

  1. If I Ever Lose My Faith In You
  2. If You Love Somebody Set Them Free
  3. Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic
  4. I Was Brought To My Senses
  5. Seven Days
  6. Mad About You
  7. I Hung My Head
  8. I'm So Happy I Can't Stop Crying
  9. Fields Of Gold
  10. Synchronicity II
  11. Roxanne
  12. Bring On The Night / When The World Is Running Down...
  13. Demolition Man
  14. Englishman In New York
  15. Every Breath You Take
  16. Lithium Sunset
  17. Fragile

Playing Time: 20:55-22:35

The Band:

Sting: Bass and Vocals

Kenny Kirkland: Keyboard

Dominic Miller: Guitar

Vinnie Colaiuta: Drums

Butch Thomas: Saxophone

Pete Peachhill (sp?) : Trombone

After the show we had a beer with some friends from the list (Tom, Ruediger, Rogier and Dagmar) and we shared the same thoughts: It can only get better.

Before we forget. There is a terrible support act for the european shows called "Maria Lux" and it was told that this band was selected by Sting's manager. Miles must have been very drunken in that moment. I missed Soraya *VERY MUCH*. And I think this time I was not the only one...
