I saw Sting at General Motors Place in Vancouver B.C. It was AWESOME! The crowd was going crazy.
Ross and I attended the 3 Sting shows this weekend in Vancouver, Portland, and the Gorge. That meant over 1000 miles on the car, hotels, sleep on couches, lots of trips to Starbucks, and one very weary CD player.
Not much to report on the Vancouver show Friday night, other than the intro to Roxanne freshens up this song incredibly. The band wasn't extremely sharp this night, and what's with the backup singer Russ? I'm sure he is a nice guy, but why bother having him? I never really heard him sing, and he just pretty much stands there. I so much prefer the three girls from Scream we had in the fall shows. They could be heard and were fun to look at.
It was great to be at these shows, particularly with Ross. If he writes a review to the list, perhaps he'll include his thoughts on the roses that were intended for Sting at the Portland show.
It was after the Northwest shows in 1996 that I met Jeremy and Ross through this mailing list. There's something about seeing Sting in your own backyard.
