We were fortunate enough to attend the concert on Nov 7 , 1999 at the Fox theatre in Atlanta. Sting was in rare voice and geniunely seemed to be having a great time himself . The playlist was perfect and the arrangements better than ever. Every note was flawless and incredible music flowed from Sting and band .The intensity of every mood was overwhelming - from the rueful emotions in" Field of Gold "to the funked out hysteria on a jazzy "Roxanne". At one moment we had tears in our eyes in sheer awe of the beauty of these sounds and the next song would find us all on our feet dancing and singing our hearts out. We had wonderful balcony seats stage left (but we did walk down with ease to the 5 th row for a great close peek).A gentleman stood listening in our plain vision stage right in a white suit. It was Elton John who walked on and joined Sting for a song - which was a great unexpected treat. Let me say the The Fox Theatre is one of the most beautiful in the country. The lavish Arabian nights motif warrants allowing yourself an extra half hour and an extra glass of wine to enjoy it. Inside the {acoustically astounding} theatre itself the night sky twinkles with stars and the clouds move on the ceiling. Truly magic.
Me'Shelle D'Ogdcello(sp) opened for Sting. Her set was really enjoyable and I look forward to getting her CDs. We met her and her excellant backup guitariast buying thier own takeout food about 2am in RJ Thomas' in Buckhead by chance and found them to be as pleasant and humble as they are talented. Stings performance Sat Nov. 20th on Saturday Night Live was great.
We had a great weekend with 4 of us meeting from L.A.,PA and FLA with our hostess for a great Sting weekend and he surpassed our pretty big expectations.
