3 Penny Opera Ad As to how I got to meet Sting- in one word LUCK and also it helps to be very persistant with door people, security etc. I first time I met him was before the first matinee of Three Penny in NYC. I got there 3 hours before curtain time, much to my mother's chagrin, and waited in the cold for an hour or so, talking to Danny, Sting's bass tuner and other members of the cast as they arrived. Danny then disappeared and then came back driving Sting's grey Jag XJ-6 from California. No Sting!!! I then asked Danny where he was and he joked with me and told me and the 5 others there to walk down the street a little bit. I walked very fast and there low and behold was Sting walking down the street. I was speechless. He then said hello, as I was the first one that reached him and he promptly put his arm through my arm and jokingly said "Let's go". He was very cordial and a truely nice fellow. My mom video taped it and he was making funny faces to the camera.

3 Penny Opera playbill During the show, I was in the 2nd row, I sat near some friends and family of his. During the curtain calls he was joking with the people in the front row and he waved to me and said "Hi". I then waited by the stage door as he left and to my surprise he posed again for my videocamera and said a few funny things into it and then proceeded to get in his car. One thing that is good for NYC is the traffic. He was then stuck in traffic in front of the theatre, so I went over to his window and knocked on it. He then rolled it down and signed my playbill for me and talked with me a few more minutes while waiting in traffic. My other experiences of meeting him were at the Beacon in NYC in Feb of 1991, I was in the front row for his shows and he talked to me the one night while he was taking requests from the audience. I also got to talk with Trudie that night and saw Jake and Mickey, two of their children. I also have seen him at shows in Pittsburgh, Washington, and saw Dominic Miller after his show at Giants Stadium with the Dead. Oh well, enough about Sting.....
