Oh, he was there all right!!!
What a great morning - local news covered the event, and I saw a camera for Entertainment Tonight, so watch both tonight and this weekend. Probably E! Television as well. A lot of media. And quite a few fans, but a small enough group that we were all pretty close to the action (about 10-15 feet away).
The mayor of Hollywood introduced him with a brief biography, 2 others followed suit and wished him congratulations, then welcomed him onto the podium.
Sting was very humble, spoke a few words about the first time he ever visited Los Angeles, "I ran up and hugged a palm tree". He looked amazing. Giacomo was onstage hamming it up with him. Trudie was beaming.
He came over to the fans, took a few pictures and signed a few autographs. The star is in an excellent location on Hollywood Blvd., right in front of the Disney Store and the El Capitan Theatre (where ENG will premiere Sunday), and accross the street from the Mann's Chinese Theatre.
I'm so happy, his star lies right in the middle of the path I walk from my car to my bank!
