...Just look at all those hungry mouths we have to feed
Take a look at all the suffering we breed
So many lonely faces scattered all around
Searching for what they need...

Is this the world we created?
What did we do it for?
Is this the world we invaded
Against the law?
So it seems in the end
Is this what we're all living for today?
The world that we created...

("Is This the World We Created?", 1984)

The band named "Queen" at the very first time appeared on the music arena of the world in 1970, when they gave their first small concert. There were only 3 of them then - Faruh Balsara, a student of graphic design, who later decided to take "Freddie Mercury" as a pseudonym; Bryan May, a student of physics, whose idea of creating a rock-band in 1968 gave life to one of the best bands ever on Earth; and a student of biology, Roger Taylor. May was on the guitar, Taylor - on the drums. Mercury was singing and playing piano. In 1971 John Deacon came, a student of electrical engineering, who was playing the bass guitar.

Mercury himself in 1970 gave the band name "Queen. Under this glorious name the Brittish quartette released more than 20 albums, made dozens of tours and a lot of scandals. One of the most long-living bands, "Queen" was dismissed only because of the Freddie Mercury's death in 1991. All band's members were very talented, everyone created music and lyrics. There were masterpieces made by Brian May ("Who Wants to Live Forever", "Hammer to Fall", "Now I'm Here", "We Will Rock You", "Fat Bottomed Girls" etc.), by Roger Taylor ("Radio Ga Ga", "A Kind of Magic", "Heaven for Everyone" etc.), by John Deacon ("You're My Best Friend", "Another One Bites the Dust", "I Want to Break Free" etc.) and, of course, by Freddie Mercury himself ("Killer Queen", "Somebody to Love", "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Love of My Life", "We Are the Champions", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", "It's a Hard Life" etc.). "Queen" issued 2 Greates Hits albums (1981, 1992) and "Queen Classic" album (1992). Besides 2 band memebers had their own solo-albums: Freddie Mercury ("Mr. Bad Guy", 1985 and "The Freddie Mercury Album", 1992); Bryan May ("Star Fleet Project", 1983 and "Back to the Light", 1992); Roger Taylor ("Roger Taylor's Fun in Space", 1981 and "Strange Frontier", 1984). Roger Taylor was also a leader of the band named "Cross", which issued 2 albums - "Shove It", 1988 and "Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know", 1990.

I 've listened to the "Queen" records for the very first time in 1992, when I got the "Greatest Hits" album (1981). My first reaction was negative. Then I listened to this album for the second, the third time, I and began to like it. To get all the albums was a piece of cake. I got the whole "Queen" discography in a couple of months, and I still love sometimes to listen to some of their albums. I was delighted, when in 1995 the album "Made in Heaven" was issued. I suppose it is one of the best band works.
