Fast Times At Ridgemount High 1982
Cast: Phoebe Cates, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Sean Penn, Judge Reinhold, Robert Romanus, Eric Stolz, Ray Walston
Director: Amy Heckerling
Plot: High school kids have fun in the '80's.
My Opinion: Dude!! This movie is, like, totally awesome! I adore Fast Times. I should really buy it and save myself the late night runs to the movie store to get my Fast Times fix. Fast Times is without a doubt the best '80's teen flick. Even if you wouldn't touch an '80's movie with a ten foot pole you should check this movie out. It's funny, it's actually got a good story, and it's even somewhat moving! (alright- so that last part is somewhat stretching it but it is funny!) Besides, it's got pre-marital sex and one of the best wanking scenes I've ever seen!
Quotes: "Mister if you don't shut up I'm gonna kick 100% of your ass!" "No shirt, no shoes, no dice. Learn it, know it, live it." "Righteous bucks!" "I hope you had a helluva piss, Arnold!" "I like sex!!"
The Butcher Boy 1998
Cast: Ian Hart, Sinead O'Connor, Eamonn Owens, Stephen Rhea, Fiona Shaw
Director: Neil Jordan
Plot: Irish boy learns about life in an interesting manner
My Opinion: Great movie. One of the best I've ever seen. All of the actors give an outstanding performance. It can get a little weird at times but I like my movies a little whacked-out! It's one of those movies where you laugh your head off one minute and cry your eyes out the next. Owens does an awesome job at playing Francie- the hero or really bad kid (depending on your point of view) of the movie. The movie follows Francie's whole life form his dysfunctional childhood to his strange adventures out in the real world. It's got a solid story, a good script, good music, and who can pass up a chance to see Sinead O'Connor play the Virgin Mary!?
Quotes: "And the Francie Brady Not a Bad Bastard Anymore Award goes to- Great God, I think it's Francie Brady!"
The Breakfast Club
Cast: Ron Dean, Emilio Estevez, Paul Gleason, Anthony Micheal Hall, John Kapelos, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy
Director: John Hughes
Plot: Five kids bond during Saturday detention
My Opinion: Another truly good '80's movie. I think this is Hughes' best flick (and I should know I've seen them all numerous times!!).

Ravenous 1999
Cast: David Arquette, Robert Carlyle, Jeremy Davies, Jeffrey Jones, Guy Pearce, Stephen Spinella
Director: Antonia Bird
Plot: Army guys go stir crazy at base camp, become cannibals to pass the time
My Opinion: I don't think this movie would have been have as good without the whacked-out backwoods soundtrack! It's a great movie though. I know what you're thinking- hmm... civil war soldiers become cannibals, yeah that sounds good! Seriously though, I felt the same way when I first heard about it.
