CITA Chat

Our first (and I believe our last) annual CITA Chat did not go the way I expected.

It was more than a month ago when I put the "Let's chat" banner on my site, asking my visitors to join me in CITA chat room for a little chat. I was hoping to spend a nice hour or so chatting about the guys, how we miss them, what we think of their new careers and other interesting stuff. I was also hoping to hear your suggestions about CITA WebSite, what you like and what you don't like. What would you change, add, etc.

I was anxiously waiting day D. And here it was - November 20th 1999, 8.00 pm. After a few failures I finally manage to get connected to the internet and I surf to http://listen.to/cita and click on the chat banner. It takes a while and yes - I'm in CITA chat room. The only problem is that I'm all alone. Gee... I say to myself: "OK. They'll come." Nothing, nothing... After 10 minutes or so, here's Merit from Estonia. She told me that she'd been in the chat room some time around 8.00 pm, but since no one was there, she surfed some other sites. We chat for about half an hour and we really did have a lovely time. Thank you so much Merit for being so nice and not letting me (nor CITA) down. Which is something I cannot say for other CITA WebSite visitors. I really have to say that I am very and I mean VERY disappointed in all of you CITA fans. I really thought that you'd join me in CITA chat room in a much larger number. (I was almost sure, that there would be at least ten CITA fans chatting.) To tell you the truth, I was so disappointed, that I started asking myself whether it was worth putting the effort in creating the site, or if it would be just easier for me to shut it down. I'm still thinking about it and I'll decide on that matter considering your responses. But what I did decide months ago was, that I'll stop updating the site, when the weekly visits drop under 70 visitors.
As I mentioned above - this was our first annual CITA chat and as it seems it was our last one too, since I don't see any point even in putting an effort in creating a banner for it, let alone mailing the newsletters and doing all the other work necessary.
