"Hope,I'm going to show Sam around town.We'll be back around 10.Oh,can I take your car?" I asked as I grabbed my purse and black jacket.I had on black flare jeans,some black skechers,and a black tube top with a matching cardigan.Samantha was wearing the exact same thing,except her jeans were midnight blue.Hope nodded her head and threw me her car keys.I had a car,it was a tan '99 Ford Explorer XLT,except mine was small,and Hope's was bigger than mine.
"So,you wanna go to the mall?Afterwards we can hit the Snack Shack" I asked as I fastened my belt and turned the ignition on.
"Sounds cool to me…… um,don't you want to invite those Hanson boys?" She asked quietly,as she blushed a light shade of pink.'Sam and Zac sittin' in a tree,K-I-S-S-I-N-G, first comes love than comes marriage-' My thoughts were interupted by a tap on the window.I looked tot he side and saw Taylor staring back at me.
"Hey 'Lyssa.Where you headin' too?" He asked as he put his hand on the side of the door.
"To the mal than to the Snack Shack.And maybe a movie.You and Zaaaac are welcomed to come."I said as I nudged Samantha's shoulder.She just smacked me and looked face foward.
"I'm getting hungry, I'm thinking the Food Court." Zac whinned with a little grin.
"So am I.How about Taco Bell or something?Then after we eat we can go to the movies,or just rent a movie and watch it at my house."I said.
"I rather rent a movie.How about Full Metal Jacket ? That is a good movie."Taylor suggested.We all just nodded and headed towards Taco Bello to have our lunch........ and probably Samantha's final lunch………
"Hey Sam…… umm…… er maybe tomorrow we can go somewhere, maybe out to eat for lunch or somethin'.That's if you're not doin' anything that is." Zac said.Samantha slightly smiled and looked at me.I nodded my head and said "Tay, help me warm up the car.To cold for you to walk."I said as I grabbed his shoulder and dragged him out to the car.
"Ow! What was that for?" He asked as he rubbed his shoulder. "Hello! Zac and Sam need to be alone. Love at first sight, you should know how that feels.You've seen many girls in your day."I said as I got into the car.
"I'd love to go.Can Alyssa come?And Tay too?" She asked,not really wanting to be alone with a guy who had "experience" in the dating thing.
"I was thinking just the two of us,I could possibly borrow the car.I'm learning to drive,and I'm real good." He said with pleasure.Sam gave him a doubtful look and just sighed.
"I don't know,I just don't feel right.I barely now you, I'm going to invite Alyssa any other way." Samantha said in unison.
"Okay,fine.I'll be here around 1,but I'm still driving!" He said.She just smiled and closed the door.Zac walked up to the car, opened the door,slouched on the seat, and slammed the door."Hey,watch it with the door." I said with a slight laugh.He just glared at me and payed attention to his gummi bears.I put in the Britney Spears CD and placed it on number five,"Born to make you Happy". I loved that song to death,it made me think about the one I was born to make happy……… Taylor.I looked at him,he had been staring at me 'cause he quickly turned his head. I smiled and thought about the day when our relationship would go a step further. That wouldn't be possible, he was to tangled up in the web he had woven.

"Hope,is it okay if I take a walk?Just around the block for some air?"Samantha asked.
"It's getting pretty dark,but,okay.Just this block,no farther." Hope declared.Samantha nodded her head and grabbed her baby blue Jacket.She stepped out the door into the cool,crisp night.'Such a quiet town.Peaceful two.No crack dealers,and prostitutes either,hey…no gang bangers. I'm starting to like living here.Aw,look at that cute kitty.Opps,fell into the leaves.Hey,maybe me and Zac-' Her thoughts were interupted by a rustle in the bushes."Anyone there?" She asked.No answer,but the rustle continued.She wasn't going to take chances.She was in the situation of being killed too many times.She turned around quickly,only too bump into………… him………
"I'll see you guys tomorrow.Well,that's if I have no work." I said as Zac ran out the car,slamming the door… again!
"Alright,see ya!" He said as he waved to me and closed the door.I watched him walk off into the house,and wave again.I waved again,and drove off."Restart this song again!Yay!" I said to myself."I'm sitting here alone up in my room. Thinking about the times that we've been through,oh my love.Lookin' at a picture in my hands,trying my best to understand.I really wanna know what we did wrong,with the love that felt so strong.Oh,if only you were here tonight,I know that we can make it riiight. I don't know how to live w/out your love,I was born to make you happy.'Cause you the only one w/in my heart.I was born to make you happy.Always and forever you and me,I was born to make you happy.I know I've been a fool since you've been gone.Better give it up than carry on,oh my-WHAT THE?"I yelled as my car stopped at a screeching hault.
I quickly got out of my car to seee what I had bumped into,only to find Sam,and……and"Oh my GOD!!!!!" I yelled.Sam was bleeding heavily from her stomache, while, while he was bleeding from his head. "Ow…you bitch!"He whispered loudly.I quickly got to my knees and picked up Sam and tried hard and fast to get her in the car.I quickly layed her down in the backseat and slammed the door to see the guy standing right in front of me."Well,well, who do we have here?Oh,I know.Is this Alyssa Chasez?Long time since I've seen you sweetie."He said as he ran his hand down my cheek.A tear fell down my cheek,as anger filled my mind."Shall we finish off what I started?" He said as he grabbed my arm and pulled it hard.
"Listen you…… you bastard! You got to me once,and you got to my friend, you're not getting to me again!!" I yelled as my hand smacked his cheek."Listen you bitch.You don't touch me or you'll get yourself into more trouble."He said as he raised his voice.I snatched my hand away from his grip and backed away.He just glared at me,as if he were to kill me.He raised his arm to hit me,and I tightly closed my eyes, but no punch.
"Hey,that's no way to treat a lady.Is he causing trouble mam?" A tall,brusk man asked.
I turned my head to look at Samantha,only to find her pale, and losing her blood fast.I ran into the driver seat and just yelled "Yes officer… Tryed killing me as a matter of fact!!" And sped off to the hospital.Tears were falling, like the angel's tears on a rainy day.I couldn't let her die,and have her feel all the pain that I had gone through.
"Pick up,pick u-Hello,Hope?!?" I asked between breaths.
"Alyssa,where are you,are you okay??" She asked as I heard Monica say something in the background.
"Please please get to the hospital on Main Street now!!!" I yelled as I hung up the phone and an back to the nurse's desk.My sisters had came,and I explained everything to them.They didn't allow us to see her,but they did tell us one thing."She is in serious condition at the point.To tell you the truth ladies,it would be a miracle if she lived. We ran many tests,and this one shows were the bullet hit her. It ruptured her large intestent,and this mark I'm thinking is made by a knife, which went through her lung. Her breathing capacity is very low,and her heart keeps on failing on us.She's resting right now,but tomorrow come back, and you will be allowed to see her." He had said as he was flipping through some papers.
I had taken my car,even though blood was all over the backseat,and the scent of her perfume filled the air."God,please let her live.Please!" I said as I parked the car in the drive way and put my head on the steering wheel,and cried my eyes out.All the memories flooded back to me,the day we became friends,every moment was special,I never had friend like her.And now,in the blink of an eye,all was lost.I could never forget myself,I probably would never forget myself.I caused her to be in this situation,I only did.
"Yes,I would like the room number for a Samantha Ochoa." I said as I tapped my fingers wildly on the counter.
"That should be room 347,third floor on the right." She directed."Thanks"I said as I ran to the elevator and pressed the button constantly until it opened.Thrid floor,here I come.I waited patiently(yah right) until it stopped at the floor.I ran out and almost crashed it a carrier holding un-used urine cups.I ran into the room and yelled her name,only to find her body limp and fraile on the bed.She was awake,why would she be listening ot music if she wasn't??A lone tear had fallen down my cheek as I walked up to her.So many tubes and wires helping her breathe, and live through the day without her heart failing.I sat next to her on the bed,and waited till she noticed me.
"Samantha… I'm so sorry about this.It was my fault,I should have let them walk,or at least taken you with me." I said,trying to keep my voice calm.She slightly smiled and looked at me.Her face was flushed,her body so limp,it was like looking at a person who has already passed away.
"D--n't,it… was-n't… your…… fau--lt." She said wearily.She was unable to speak,it seemd like a hard task to her.
"I'm sorry,I'm so sorry.I promise to make it better, remember? 'Never say never, friends through all'? Just please don't leave me now. I've been through so much,and seeing you like this makes it worst.I just wouldn't forgive myself." I said as tears flooded my eyes.She smiled and let out six complete words.
"Don't worry,I won't go.--Goodnight,-me---ti--red." She said as she drifted off into sleep.It wouldn't be her final sleep,and I'd make sure of it.
