On first moving to “Kincora” in late 1985, the only birds
in the area were the Willie wagtail, crow (Australian Raven) and the magpie.
Now, 15 years later, we have a large variety of native birds.

Hawks are often seen flying overhead, especially during
summer. You can tell without looking by the call of the many New
Holland honeyeaters.
This summer, there has been a nest of what seems to be
the Brown goshawk across the road.
A pair of Black-shouldered kites have also be doing the
rounds..
I think we’ve had a visit from a Grey goshawk a few times
also.
On occasion, a pair of Wedge-tailed eagles have floated far overhead.
We have also had a few visits from a koala (seen here up our apple tree), and we have a few possums in the area, mostly brush-tails but also ring-tails.
