Sharing a love for aggressive pop rock, the Hamilton based quartet was formed in 1996. Wasting no time, songwriters Adam and Dave laid the groundwork for the Trigger sound. Equal parts sonic fuzz, vintage rock, and pure power pop, their sound is instantly recognizable.
The group is rounded out by new bass player Josh who also plays with The Tighties and Drew (drums), an ex-member of Spiral.
They have had the pleasure of playing with such fine artitists as Rusty, Mike Trebilcock (Killjoys), Bionic and Mrs. Torrance.
Trigger's first single Dayjob features Beach Boys inspired harmonies and soaring melodies. The song has garnered the quartet much attention, both at home and abroad.
Trigger were finalists in Toronto radio station EDGE 102's 1999 NEW ROCK SEARCH, and performed at the station's showcase during the 1999 NORTH BY NORTHEAST MUSIC FESTIVAL .
Dayjob appeared on the UK compilation Abuse Your Friends II - Something To Excite You. The song was featured on BBC Radio One by legendary DJ John Peel. Dayjob has also charted on the Italian radio program White Noise. In September 1999 they released their debut CD numberonefan The album, which is distributed in Canada by Sonic Unyon Records , soared to the #1 spot on McMaster University's CFMU . VIEW magazine concluded numberonefan "...simply deserves to be heard."
