  • The rumors about Brian May participating as a special guest on the new Guns N'Roses album have been officially denounced. According to the Guns N'Roses manager, "there hasn't been any such conversation"

  • Today 19th of August, Queen's bass player John Deacon (the most enigmatic Queen member) is celebrating his 48th birthday !! We don't have any news related to him and we don't even know if he will join the new project that Brian May and Roger Taylor are planning.

  • Another Queen member has chosen Spain to spend part of his summer holiday. Brian May has been in Tenerife, a place he loves. When he was young he used to go to the astronomic observatories of the Canarian archipelago. Since that moment he fell in love with Las Canarias. In fact, the photos you see in the "Another World" album were taken in El Hierro island.

  • Rumors and more rumors. It's said that Brian May could be a special guest for the new Guns N'Roses album. Let's see what happens.

  • Amazing news! Brian May has returned to the studios to record a new version of the Queen hit "We Will Rock You" with the band ... "5ive"!!!!! The song will be released as a single probably at the end of this year or early 2000.

  • In the last few months, Brian May has been working on the sound track of a French film called "Furia". It's said that he has composed an entirely different style of music than he is known for. Within a few days, the film will premiere in France.

  • A sad note for the nostalgic Queen fans. The stadium where Queen demonstrated to the world that they had the magic to conquer the world, will be destroyed in the year 2002. Yes, the Wembley stadium where Queen achieved notoriety and filled to capacity two consecutive nights will be torn down in 2002. In 2003, a new stadium will arise. So, all you people who will visit London before the year 2002, visit the old Wembley. The stadium where Queen proved to be the best band in the world!!

  • A few weeks ago, a UK list was published of bands and solo singers with the most pirate albums. They are as follows:

  • Yeah!! There is still more news related to the Greatest Hits III. When the album is released, they will also release Greatest Pix III and Greatest Flix III. The Greatest Pix III is a book with biographic details and photos. The Greatest Flix III is a video cassette with clips of the Queen last years. When Greatest Hits I & II were released they simultaneously released Greatest Pix and Flix.

  • More surprises!!! The Official Queen Web is holding a contest. Queen fans can send in their personal photos taken at Queen concerts or with Queen members. The prize? Appear in the booklet of the Greatest Hits III album that will be released in November. What are you waiting for?

  • Hey, another Queen birthday! Today, 26th of July is Roger Taylor's birthday. The blond drummer is now half a century young. He will celebrate his birthday party in Ibiza (Spain) where he is spending his summer holidays. Happy birthday Roger!!!
  • Great surprise! The Official Queen Web Site has been totally updated and rebuilt, after remaining the same for at least a couple of years. Due to the release of "Greatest Hits III" in November, they've finally decided to redesign the web page. Now it's even more complete than ever! We can find sections of each Queen member and a section dedicated exclusively to Greatest Hits III. I advise you to go visit the web site at http://queen-fip.com.

  • Brian May has joined in the "Star Wars" fever that is invading the world. He attended the film premiere on July 14th at the Odeon Leicester Square of London. I was told that he was fascinated by the film.

  • Julie Glover worked for Queen for 17 years. Julie was also Brian May's personal manager for the last 7 years. She has decided to leave and try new avenues. Her successor will be Sara Thornton.

  • Can you tell me what song was heard at the stadium when Brazil won the America Cup Final? Yes, you're right. When the Brazilian team was presented the cup,"We Are The Champions" resounded filling the air...As the players did the "olympic turn" to the stadium, they played "We Will Rock You"!!!!

  • Those of who have Via Digital (a spanish TV cable company) are in for a lucky surprise!!! On July 29th, VH1 will be showing a number of Queen specials. Here is the timetable:

    23:00 hours Greatest Hits of Queen

  • The "Voices for Peace" album was announced in Vienna last Sunday. A collection of great songs has been chosen for this album. Artist chosen for this CD are Phil Collins, Dire Straits, Peter Gabriel, Hubert Von Goisern, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Pink Floyd and of course QUEEN. We don't know which song was selected for the album, but we do know that it's NOT a new song.

  • Another Queen song appears in a Spanish commercial. This time it's "We Will Rock You" that's heard in a Kronnenberg beer commercial. QUEEN STILL ROCKS!!!

  • On the 12th and 15th of July the song "Stone Cold Crazy" will sound again in Barcelona and Madrid. Oh, no, Queen isn't back!!! The song will be played by Metallica... At every Metallica gig, they play "Stone Cold Crazy" in Tribute to Queen...

  • Yeah !! My fellow Queenies!! Today we are coming out with the English version of the Magic Web !! We want you to be informed of ALL that happens around the Queen World!! This section wouldn't be possible without the invaluable help of the lovely Tina Winters (from Los Angeles, USA).   • The infamous Queen cover band called KILLER QUEEN is coming to Spain!! They will be in Madrid between the 9th and 20th of June. KILLER QUEEN will be playing in the Chesterfields Cafe.   • The Greatest Hits 3 album is being prepared!! We don't have the song list yet but we do know that it will be released between November and December of this year. The theory is they will release it on or close to the anniversary day of Freddie's death.  

  • Controversy in the UK about the Freddie Mercury stamp. In England, the only people who can appear on the stamp, are those who have passed on. The only exception is the Queen of England. On Freddie's stamp, we can see the silhouetto of a man (behind Freddie) It's Roger Taylor!!! So Roger is the ONLY living person in history who has ever appeared on a British stamp!!  

  • Freddie Mercury in the air!!!!! Nikki Lauda, has just bought a new generation Boeing 737 for his company "Laudaair". What is the new name of this aircraft? "Freddie Mercury" of course.. Nikki Lauda's way of paying tribute to the greatest rock singer of all time...

  • The song "Surrender" from the Roger Taylor album "Electric Fire" is currently being used  by the Plymouth (UK) police to campaign against domestic violence.

  • Finally Brian PLAYED at the Cozy Powell Tribute concert on May 1st. He also performed "Since You've Been Gone, Hammer To Fall and Tie Your Mother Down". He then played with other musicians participating in the tribute gig.

  • Queen albums "Greatest Hits I & II" are now available throughout Europe in Mini Disc format. 

  • Freddie Mercury sings again for the Champions League Soccer Finals, Barcelona. In competition were teams Manchester United and Bayern Munich. During the pre-game show, soprano Montserrat Caballe sang the song "Barcelona" as a duet with Freddie Mercury. Obviously, Freddie sang from the giant stadium TV screen and Monsterrat Caballe from the grass. Thousands of English fans sang the chorus of the song. It seems that Freddie helped the English team to win the final. When the victory was won, Manchester United celebrated their triumph with the songs "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions". The sound rang throughout the Stadium...

  • At last we have seen the new design of the Millennium stamps in the UK. The stamps will depict the Stars of Rock N Roll. One of which is dedicated to the great "Freddie Mercury"!!!! Here is a photo of it. Just click here to enlarge it.
    The stamps are now available in the UK. So... if you visit the UK this summer, buy some Freddie stamps. The cost is only 19 pennies!! 

  • Update !! April news about "Queen The Eye II" to be released in the year 2002 (DVD format) is false... According to Manoplas (friend of the #queen channel "IRC HISPANO") Electronic Arts has denied this information. Thanks Manoplas!! 

  • Neil Murray (bass player of the Brian May Band) has just finished his world tour with Brian. Neil is now taking off on a world tour with the famous band "Whitesnake". The 21st of May, Whitesnake played at Zeleste in Barcelona. 

  • Just recently (appearing on Spanish television) a commercial advertising "The Yellow Pages-Online", is using a song called "Somebody to Love" from an unknown British band called Queen. Do you know them? ;) 

  • The 14th Queen International Fan Club Convention took place last week. To be exact.. It was held on May 6,7,8 and 9 in the UK . According to the QFC, it was a great success! The huge mass of people that attended this 4 day event was quite impressive...

  • And more news about the hopeful return of Queen. According to the famous music magazine "Mondo Sonoro", Queen might release an album without a permanent vocalist. Instead it would feature special guest singers on each song. So far, these are only rumors...

  • At last!! The Argentinian fans,will see Brian May on TV channel "Canal 13". The program is called "Sorpresa y Media". Brian surprised an Argentinian fan named Marcelo, who traveled to England just to meet Brian and attend one of Brian's shows. To read about this story , relayed by Mariano Bryners, click here.   • The Official Queen Fan Club web site has suffered some problems with its server in the last month. Due to this reason, the address http://www.queen.net, is not active anymore. Instead, you can visit their webpage in it's new location : http://www.queenworld.com

  • Just recently in Spain, a biographic book dedicated to Freddie Mercury has come out. It is written by Andres Lopez and edited by Editorial La Mascara. It's title is "Freddie Mercury", but a great deal of the book talks about Queen history. Click the image to see the book cover in a larger version.

  • According to a message that appeared in the Queen newsgroup yesterday (alt.music.queen), George Michael's manager confirmed that George will not be joining Queen in their possible return. Although he doesn't disregard any future musical colaboration.

  • The Official Queen Fan Club has confirmed the rumours about Queen joining together again. They also mentioned a world tour with George Michael would not occur, but there would be possible future colaborations.

  • Incredible !!!! Today Wednesday 7th April, the BBC web site informs us of amazing great news!!. The article titles it "Queen plans new reign". According to Roger Taylor"s quote to the English newspaper "The Express", he and Brian May would be very happy to work together again.They will try to convince John Deacon to work with them.   • We have the date and place of the VII Queen party in Barcelona. It will be next Sunday 11th April, between 18:00 and 22:00 hours . It will be held at the Hit Box Maremagnum in Port Vell. The price of the ticket will be 700 pesetas, or 600 if you are members of the Queen Club Barcelona.

  • WOW !!! KILLER QUEEN STRIKES AGAIN !! More surprises from the Roger Taylor tour within the UK. The 30th March, Roger was playing in Wolverhampton, and according to the audience, was the best gig to date. In the middle of the gig, Roger Taylor invited a very special guest to the stage, (guess who?) it was in fact the infamous Mr Brian May!!!!! Yeah, two ex-Queen members together again on stage!! They played some Queen songs such as Under Pressure or Radio Ga Ga.

  • Recently, in the Queen newsgroup (alt.music.queen) a person with the nick "Rhapsody" wrote a very interesting article. Here is a little piece of it:

    "Think about it, when a band is admited in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, normally they do a 15-30 minutes mini-concert (even if the original members of the band are not complete) Good examples of this are The Mammas and The Papas also The E-Street Band. In the next 5 years Queen will probably enter in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, and without any doubt Brian, Roger and John will do a little concert."

  • Good news for Queen The Eye videogame fans!!! The year 2002 brings Queen The Eye II in DVD format. Part Two contains 5 new domains: The Races Domain, The Jazz Domain, The Strange Frontier, The Heaven Domain and Another World. The Eye II will also contain an audio CD called The Final Domain soundtrack, that is to say, more Queen music!!

  • Next 1st of May The Buxton Opera House will stage the Tribute concert to Cozy Powell. Cozy died the beginning of this year. He had colaborated and played with Brian May on many occasions. Cozy was in fact one of Brian's best friends. Scheduled to play in tribute will be:

    -Tony Martin (voice) Member of Black Sabbath
    -Don Airey(keys) Member of Rainbow
    -Neil Murray (bass) Member of the actual Brian May Band
    -Mike Casswell (guitar) He played on the Cozy Powell album
    -Bobby Rondinelli  (drums) Member of Rainbow and Black Sabbath

    Neil Murray, (the organizer of the Cozy Powell Tribute Concert), is still looking for people to play this gig. He is awaiting confirmation from Brian May, Tony Iommi or Richie Blackmore.

  • Roger Taylor is half way through his "Electric Fire Tour". He's been in the UK since the 15th of March. In fact, two hours ago, he just finished his Liverpool gig. Its the ninth show of this tour. The "Electric Fire Tour" comes to a close on the 3rd of April in the London Astoria. We'll know then if Roger is going to do a European tour. We hope that he does!!

  • We have another Queen party!! It will be on April 11th (two weeks from now) in Barcelona. To be held at the local of Maremagnum. This is the 7th party that "Queen Barcelona Fan Club" organizes!! Yeah ! Barcelona Rocks! When we further details, we'll put them right here.

  • And more news about Brian May. In Spain a CD has just been released called "Baladas'99". It compiles the best ballads of 1998. I must say there is something special in this CD... You see, Brian May's song "Another World" was included. In fact, Brian sings it in spanish!!! He did the same for all spanish gigs during the "Another World Tour".

  • Next Sunday March 21, the program "Sorpresa y Media", will feature Brian May surpriseing an Argentinian Queen fan that travels to England. It will aire on TV channel "Canal 13" of Argentina.

  • Christmas time of the year 2000, it is rumoured that a CD set called "Ultimate Freddie Mercury Box Set" will be released with rare items included. It will be dedicated to the Immortal Spirit of Freddie Mercury...

  • Cool news!!! Within the next 3 years, 6 live Queen videos will be released!! So far we know that one of them will be the famous gig of Milton Keynes.

  • To celebrate the 25 year reign of Queen (1973-1998), they have released the entire official discography in Japan. It has been created with a very special format. The CD covers are copies of the authenthic vinyl's of Queen. They are carton covers, instead of being of plastic.

  • A momentous event ! Queen Legend "Freddie Mercury" will be featured on postal stamps from the UK!! June 1st, the stamps will be released. They will belong to the stamp series "Millenium", This series specializes in homages to music legends. Freddie Mercury is one of those legends!!

  • Last Sunday ,January 31st, an Internet strike was held against the telephone companies throughout Europe. Together we protested the unfair overpricing of these companies. "The Magic Web" also participated in the strike. On the 31st, we shut down for the whole day. Click here for info.

  • To date, the crazy TV series "The Simpsons" has mentioned Queen 3 times now !! In the last episode shown in the USA "Wild Barts Can Be Broken",Homer, Barney, Lenny and Carl appeared singing the song "We Are The Champions" in the shower, after winning a baseball match. Two more episodes that mention Queen were shown in Spain.

    In the second season, the episode called "The War Of The Simpsons", shows Homer singing "We Are The Champions". He changes the words to "I Am The Champion", after fishing Sherman General, a giant fish.

    Then in the fourth season, the episode called "Duffless", shows Homer singing Frank Sinatra's "It Was A Very Good Year", but changing the words to:

    When I was 17,
    I drank some very good beer,
    I drank some very good beer,
    I purchased with a fake ID,
    My name was Brian McGee,
    I stayed up listening to "Queen",
    When I was 17...

    Homer appears in his room drinking beer with "A Night At The Opera" poster in his bedroom!!! Even Homer knows a great band when he see's one...

  • Are you thinking about buying an electric guitar? Yes? Great news for you then!!
    Brian May and Greg Fryer ( technician of the Red Special guitar) are working on a guitar model very similar to the Red Special. You will have an opportunity to own one for yourself !!
    There is more... They are also thinking about making copies of the "Deacy" amplifier built by Queen bassist John Deacon. Brian May used it in all the Queen albums. And you will continue to hear it at all his live shows even now...

  • Brian May was recently featured on the front-page of two famous guitar magazines. In October, he appeared in "Guitarrista" magazine". With this magazine they included a CD, and the song "The Guv'nor" from Brian's last album "Another World" was featured. In addition to that, you can find the guitar tablatures inside the magazine. He also explains his guitar technique and how he built the famous Red Special with his father in the sixties.

    The January issue of "Total Guitar" Brian appears on the front cover . In the CD that comes with this magazine, the song "Tie Your Mother Dowm" is on twice. One track with all the instruments (guitar, bass and drums) but without vocals. In the other track the guitar has been deleted, so the reader replaces the sound with his own guitar. They also add an interview with Brian. He reveals all the secrets of the Red Special and of his amplifier "Deacy".We can also find the guitar tabs of "Cyborg" and "Tie Your Mother Down".

  • According to the English newspaper "The Mirror", Brian May and his wife, actress Anita Dobson, have finished their relationship after living together for 12 years. According to the newspaper they separated before Christmas, and kept it a secret. We must add that this is only a rumour.

  • We still don't have any news about the Roger Taylor tour to promote his new album "Electric Fire". There are rumours that say the tour will start this year before summer. I'll keep you informed!!

  • Every Christmas since the demise of Queen, Spain TV advertises the "Greatest Hits I & II" package with this incredible scene....

    Wembley Stadium is at its finest hour... A blast of lights hit the stage!! The massive crowd roars as Freddie Mercury appears before them. With a microphone in one hand and his fist in the air, Freddie lures the crowd into a frenzy singing and pounding "We Will.. We Will.. Rock You!" I still get goose bumps on my skin..... Queen still lives!!!!!

  • Metallica has just released their new album, a double CD called "Garage Inc." Here we can find a version of the famous Queen song "Stone Called Crazy". As you all know, Metallica did a version of this song for the B-side of "Enter Sandman". Ever since then, they play "Stone Cold Crazy" at every show. The good never dies!! God Save The Queen!!!

  • In The Best Song Of The Millenium web site, they are trying to project this by popular vote. Of course , you know, which song is holding the first position right now? Hey, you Queenies are smart, it's "Bohemian Rhapsody"!! So, what are you doing here? Go to this page and vote for Bo'Rap!! Together we'll hold the number one place in the millenium...

  • Today, 24th November, seven years ago, Freddie Mercury died in his London house due to an illness caused by AIDS. At this time I would like to remember the Greatest Rock Singer that has ever walked the earth. His name is Freddie Mercury... and since that fatal day, the band we once called "Queen" was no more... God Save The Queen!!

  • I have just updated the discography section, with some new comments on the albums. You will find all the bonus-songs that Hollywood Records included in their remasterized editions.

  • In the past few days, Spanish television has been running a sweet chocolate commercial with the music of a "magic" song from Queen. This song, of course, is "A Kind Of Magic", but not the original version. They have recorded a dreadful version of this song, with a female voice. However, in spite of that, the great songs of Queen will always endure...

  • At last!! The new Roger Taylor album, "Electric Fire", has reached Spain, although we have had to wait for nearly one month.

  • And we start November with two conventions of the Official Fan Club Barcelona. November 15th will be the 5th Official Queen Barcelona Convention. What a celebration of Queen this will be!! It will be held at Sala Garatge (Pallars Street, 195), between 18:00 hours and 22:00 hours. In addition to all the usual events, there will be Queen contests, drawings, and lots of Queen merchandise ... There will be a band called "Auto-Stop" playing Queen songs!
    The second convention will be celebrated in Madrid the 22nd of November at Sala Siroco (Dimas Street, number 3) between 18:00 and 22:00 hours. This is the first convention that the Official Fan Club Barcelona celebrates in Madrid!

  • In addition, the Official Queen Fan Club Barcelona has surprised all of us, by organizing a trip to Montreux, the first days of December (5,6,7 and 8). Montreux is the place where Queen recorded a great deal of their albums. You can also find the Freddie Mercury Statue that appeared in the Made in Heaven album cover.   • Previously scheduled Live recording of Brian May's concert in Vienna was cancelled. However, it has been re-scheduled for October 21st in Offenbach, Germany. At last, we'll have a live video of Brian!!

  • If you are planning to travel to London in December, you are a lucky traveler!! The Fan Club has organized a party on the 19th. To be held in "The CineBar", Rayners Lane, Middlesex. Rare videos of Queen will be shown and two live bands playing Queen songs. One of the bands will be the german band "The Miracle". You can buy the ticket for 11 pounds.

  • And now we have news for the Queen collectors!! Hollywood Records is going to release "Crown Jewels" on November 17th. It will be a box set with the first eight Queen studio albums. Each CD will go inside a cardboard cover that is an exact copy of its vinyls version!!. "Crown Jewels" is packaged in a blue silk box. Included are some notes from Matt Pinfield.

  • We are having problems, here in Spain with the new Roger Taylor album. "Electric Fire" is now available world-wide except for in Spain. We still have to wait a few more weeks. For those fans, who don't want to wait, you can buy the album thru the Internet go to Official Queen Web, or in CD-NOW.

  • Incrediable news about Roger Taylor!!! Last September (24th), the Queen drummer offered a 45 minute concert through Internet. The result of this event turned into a world record of live audience tuned in an Internet concert. Here you have a fragment of the news offered by RedNews:

    "The ex-drummer of the famous british group Queen has established a world record of live audience through Internet. The Taylor presentation, last Thursday, lasted 45 minutes and was promoted by the best sites of the world. Taylor was able to achieve the amazing number of 500 visits per second, according to EMI Music. The web sites that participated in this project were spreaded all around the world in places like Argentina or Japan. This made that Roger Taylor had contacts with thousands of places all around the cyberspace.   • Lets talk now about the current Brian May tour in Europe. Last Saturday Brian May and his Big Band played in Vienna, and the gig was recorded. At last we'll have a live concert of Brian in video!

  • Brian May has just chosen Eric Sanger as the replacement of drummer "Cozy Powell" (who died recently in a car accident). The new drummer of the Brian May Band , Eric Sanger has played with bands like Kiss, Black Sabbath and Alice Cooper.

  • I've just bought the game "Queen The Eye"!! There are 58 Queen songs in the game. Most of them are little excerpts of the song, and some of the songs are modified to the atmosphere of the game. For example, we can hear the instrumental of "I Want It All" without any vocals. The game is distributed wth 5 CD'S. Each CD is a completly different world, that you will have to pass, if you want to defeat "The Eye". Within the next few months I will add a section in this site dedicated to this great game.

  • This week, news channel EURONEWS, reported on Brian May and his new album. It's really great!!

  • At last, the new Queen videogame, "Queen The Eye", has reached all the computer shops!!

  • Last Sunday, May 10th, the Queen Fan Club threw a spectacular celebration in Barcelona (Spain). Despite being Sunday (a bad day to celebrate any kind of party), the event was packed full of Queen fans, who enjoyed the Queen music and videos all day and all night. During the party, they played a home-made video of Montreux (the place where you can find Freddie Mercury's statue). Queen recorded "Jazz" in Montreux among other albums.

  • Exciting news to report to you!! June 1st, Brian May 's new album, "Another World", will be released throughout Europe. In just a few days we will once again relive the thrill and sound of Queen guitarist "Brian May". Here is the songlist:

  • News on the Official Queen Fan Club Barcelona! Soon to be announced celebration and activities involved with " Queen world."    

    - On April 25th, there was a gathering of members with rare Queen Collectibles. There was a fabulous contest held for the rarest Queen 7" single.

    - On May 10th , Official Queen Fan Club Barcelona will hold its 5th Anniversary Convention in Sr.Lobo of Barcelona (Almogavers Street nº 88) The convention will start at 18:00 hours and will finish at 22:00 hours. We'll have some spectacular non-released videos, contests, merchandising, a Montreux exclusive video, and of course Queen music!!

    - And to save the best for last, Saturday May 16th between 11:00 and 20:30 there will be a celebration in the local of the club (Andalucía Street, local nº 8).
    The first Queen Barcelona Exposition will have some royal rareties such as Queen memorabilia, posters, tickets and other collectibles related with Queen world.

  • The Queen computer videogame, "Queen The Eye", is now available in Great Britain!! Before long, (mid April) will see the release of this fab game within the rest of Europe. "Queen the Eye" requires a Pentium 90 Mhz, 16 MB RAM, CD-ROM de 4x and 80 MB of free hard disk space. To ride the wild wind on this game it is recomended to have a Pentium 133 Mhz or better.


  • There is a north-american rap band called "Busta Rhymes", who have released a song called "Dangerous". Well, if you listen carefully, you will notice the bass on this song is exactly the same as "Another One Bites The Dust". John Deacon's melodic bass line is forever timeless. Even after 2 decades,we still can't get enough!!!!!! I think that this tune will never bite the dust... Queen lives on..


  • We now know the name of the new Brian May album. It will be called "Another World" but will not include the song "No One But You". However it finally made its appearance in the "Queen Rocks" album. At long last, Brian will be touring this summer with the new spring release of "Another World".


  • We still don't have much detail about Roger Taylor"s new album. It has been told that Roger is hard at work in his own studio for many months now. All you Queenies will just have to be patient. More details to follow....


  • The Queen-based videogame "The Eye" is going to be available in a few days. In fact, some computer magazines, have made a preview of the game. I must say that I am really impressed. What cool graphics! Electronic Arts implemented Full Motion Capture technique and has remixed some Queen themes to bring out the powerful atmosphere of the game.
