"Secret Love"
Music by SAMMY FAIN
Words by PAUL WEBSTER

Tom Hensley talks about the album

"We went through all these songs and after the songs were chosen we made demos of them that were pretty complete. And some of the demos became essentially the final arrangements. 'Secret Love' is virtually exactly like our initial version except for the orchestration."

Neil talks about "Secret Love"

"I think I always loved this song, 'Secret Love.' It's got just the right sentiment, especially when it came out. I was a young teenager and had many secret loves.

It rang a bell with me. Of course I love the melody, but I think it was the sentiment of the song and the age that I was at the time that left the deepest impression."

Neil sings "Secret Love"

Once I had a secret love
That lived within the heart of me.

All too soon my secret love
Became impatient to be free.

So I told a friendly star,
The way that dreamers often do,

Just how wonderful you are
And why I'm so in love with you.

Now I shout it from the highest hills,
Even told the golden daffodils:

At last my heart's an open door,
And my secret love's no secret any more.

Now I shout it from the highest hills,
Even told the golden daffodils:

At last my heart's an open door,
And my secret love's no secret any more.
