Powerchord is a dutch PowerFunkRockBand from Aalsmeer/Noorden and was formed in 1994. Before Powerchord the members all played in the bluesrockband Crossroads from Aalsmeer. The members who formed at that time Powerchord wanted to play another style of music and Crossroads became history. In the beginning they were jamming all the time and that formed the sound of the band today. They have influences from various artists but Mother's Finest is their biggest influence. The power of that band is what Powerchord is like. Although Powerchord play different songs from different artists, in almost every song you can hear that kind of power. Almost all their own songs are in the style of Mother's Finest. Powerful drums and hammering bass guitar, funkrockriffs on the guitar and the lead vocals might blow you away. Powerchord plays songs from Mother's Finest, Mr. Big, Alanis Morissette, No Doubt etc. The song "The Groove" which Powerchord wrote, is becoming a local hit. Powerchord is on stage about every two weeks. They are now very busy writing new songs, which are songs for their first CD. Powerchord is also going to play several unplugged gigs in 1998.
