Acoustic Charlottesville is a cooperative group of songwriters in the Charlottesville, Virginia area. Our goal is to expand the music community of Charlottesville by creating a venue in which acoustic music and authentic expression can be truly enjoyed.

We sponsor a once a month showcase of musicians in The New Dance Space, a large dance studio on the downtown mall. This site affords us the luxury of hard wood floors, high ceilings, very live acoustics, and a generally warm and personal environment to share music intimately. This is our main objective -- to create a setting where the music, and the sense of sharing that comes with music, will not have to compete against clinking beer mugs and loud groups of tables. The music is the focus.

There's an awful lot of good music being made in Charlottesville. The more of it that's made in public venues, the more chance it has of inspiring, influencing, supporting, and collaborating to make even more great music. That's what a community of musicians does for itself over time -- it makes more and better music than the sum of its individuals would playing alone at home.
