I live and work in Billings Montana, where I share my life
and my home with my husband and two year old son. This is
important to me because it is in this atmosphere of love and
acceptance that I am able to accept myself and my art.
Chiefly I am inspired by people. Their thoughts, ideas and
attitudes and feelings. I am inspired by the
many contradictions of the human condition. I find that i am
greatly influenced by the work of others. I love to watch
another artist at work. To be privileged to participate,
however remotely in their act of creation. I also read
voraciously about the work other artists.
For me the actual work is a meditative act, I plan as
little as possible, begin, and then follow the work and the
materials where they will lead me. For me, beginning is the
hard part. Not the sketches and the thinking, but reaching
that actual moment of birth, the first line or stroke which
breathes life into the work.
I am well satisfied with my art and my life!
