"H-hello?"
"J, I know you weren't still sleep," a loud voice bellowed into the phone.
"Well, I'm not anymore, what do you want Joey?"
"I'm just calling to remind you about tonight."
Justin Timberlake rolled over and glared at the clock next to his bed; it was 10:10 am. Joey was one of his best friends but he always found ways to really annoy Justin at the worst times. Justin was used to it though and just went along with it.
"Yeah, tonight's that fashion thing, right?"
"That fashion thing?! J are you crazy, it's an SDS show!"
"Should that mean something to me?"
"Sidney Denelle Shago; she's just one of the best fashion designers on the planet and not to mention pretty damn fine!"
"Joey, to you every girl in LA is pretty damn fine."
"Well, this girl's different, not like these ordinary LA women."
"Whatever, I have to go."
"Aight, see ya tonight."
Justin hung up the phone and climbed out of bed. He was wearing a pair of boxers and a white T-shirt. He walked into the hall and made his way downstairs. His house was a sight to see. Decorated in mostly white and blues. It was a massive mansion in the heart of Beverly Hills. He really didn't like showing of his wealth but his friends and producers thought he should live in a nice house, not some apartment so he just said 'what the hell.' He walked into the kitchen and was greeted by a face he was always happy to see.
"Good-morning Mr.Timberlake."
"Morning Marie! So how's my girl today?"
Marie worked for Justin and kept order in the house. To Justin, she was a second mother. His family still lived in Memphis and before Marie came along, he was always homesick. Marie grew up in El Salvador and moved to America 15 years ago. She came to work for Justin 3 years ago when he was a small time actor. Justin loved her vast amount of wisdom and the smile she always had on her face. She was always so friendly but she also kept him in line and brought him back down to reality every now and then.
"Oh I'm fine, your cereal is on the table."
"Thanks," Justin said bending over and kissing her cheek.
"Oh and Miss Usher has called 4 times."
"That figures."
Justin was in the middle of eating his usual bowl of cereal when he heard the front door slam shut.
"3...2...1," he said with a grin.
"Justin do you realize what time it is? You have a hundred things to do today and you need to get started a.s.a.p.!"
"Well, good morning to you too Ashley."
Ashley Usher was Justin's agent/manager. She came in every morning to give Justin the day's schedule. She was an on-point type of person and Justin really admired that, even though it got annoying at times. Ashley was wearing a pants suit; she always looked so professional. She was 24 years old but has always been perceived as 30+ because of her maturity. Justin thought she was really attractive when they first met but he had grown to love her like a sister.
"No, it's not a good morning, you're already behind."
"You know I'm really going to have to take back that spare key I gave you."
"This is no time for jokes Timberlake. You can lay around all you want but it's your career."
"Jeez, calm down... is it that time of the month?"
"If your face wasn't such a valuable commodity, I think I'd slap it."
"Okay, okay I'm sorry. What's up for today?" Justin asked shoving a spoonful of Apple Jacks in his mouth.
"Thank you. Well, you have a photo shoot for GQ magazine at noon, a meeting with Steven Spielburg at 3, interviews with ET, Rolling Stone and People Magazine at 5, 6, and 7 and lastly, you're attending the SDS fashion show at 8:30 and I'm sure that Joey's contacted you about that."
"Yeah, he did."
"So hurry up, it's 11:00 and you have to be at the studio in an hour."
"Alright, I'm going."
Justin finished off the last of his cereal and got up. He ran upstairs and got into the shower. Ashley waited in the large foyer downstairs. Justin came downstairs about 25 minutes later. He was wearing a pair of khaki cargo pants, a royal blue button down shirt open to show his trademark wifebeater, and he had slicked a little gel in his hair to tame his blond curls.
"You make me sick you know?"
"What?"
"It takes you half the time as normal people to get ready and you always come out looking better."
"Awww Ash, you're so sweet," Justin said kissing her forehead.
"Yeah, yeah, you have 30 minutes to get to downtown LA, so get," Ashley said tossing him his keys and pushing him out the door.
"I have some things to take care of but I'll call you in about an hour."
"Alright, later Ash."
Justin climbed into his red Mercedes M-class and made his way into LA.
"Damn LA traffic," Justin mumbled; he was stuck in a traffic jam on the freeway. He picked up his cell and dialed the number of his best friend.
*Ring* *Ring*
"Hello?"
"JC, what's up?"
"Oh hey Justin. Nothing much, I just sent Tyler off with Laura."
"How is the little guy?"
"He was happy to see his grandma."
"So, what are you doing today?"
"Well, I'll be in the studio most of the day finishing this song with Whitney, what about you?"
"I'm trying to get to this photo shoot then I have a meeting to go to and some interviews to do."
"Sounds fun."
"Yeah right, anyway you want to come to an SDS show tonight?"
"Really, her clothes are nice and she's a great person."
"You know her?"
"Yeah, I met her at some party about a year ago. We talk every now and then."
"So are you in?"
"Yeah sure, Tyler's staying the night with Laura so I'm free."
"Okay, see ya there man."
"Later dayz."
"Later."
Justin turned off his cell and suddenly traffic started to clear. It was 11:45 and Justin knew he would hear it from Ashley for being late. He finally arrived at the studio at 12:10. They immediately took him to wardrobe and got him ready for the shoot. About an hour later Justin was only half way done with the shoot.
"Okay, now Justin I need you to really work with me. Let's see a mischievious look now."
Justin was getting irritated with the photographer and he wanted to leave.
"Why don't you go put on another outfit? Maybe that'll inspire you."
Justin rolled his eyes and went to change. He must have changed about 20 times since he got there. The wardrobe director handed Justin a pair of stylish black slacks and a silver button down satin shirt.
"This is an SDS outfit, it'll look fabulous on you."
"Really, SDS?"
"Yes, she's having a show tonight. It's going to be great!"
Justin shrugged it off. He wondered if this Sidney Denelle Shago would live up to all of the praises he's heard. He would soon find out she was much more than what he expected.
