Justin pulled up to a huge office building in Hollywood after hanging up with
JC. He felt like an elephant was lifted off his shoulders. His life was
finally the way he wanted it to be: he had his career, great friends, a
loving family, and the woman of his dreams. He knew he and Sidney had their
differences but they connected on many other levels. He smiled to himself as
he walked into the building. The building was the headquarters of the agency
Ashley worked for, Oracle Management Agency (OMA). They represented such
stars like Justin, Matt Damon, Keanu Reeves, Ryan Phillippe, Natalie Portman,
Heather Graham, Sandra Bullock, and many other well known faces. Justin saw Ashley in the
huge lobby talking on her cell phone. He walked up behind her as she
continued talking not realizing he was there.
"Well, you can tell Wes Craven that Justin can't do the sequel because he's already scheduled for another film...Yes, I know he's the main character but we do have priorities and obligations...Yes, you do that then...You know my number." Ashley put her cell back in her purse and Justin took the opportunity to do what he does best.
"Boo," he said poking her sides.
Ashley spun around quickly to a grinning Justin. "Damnit Justin, grow up."
"Love you too Ash."
"You're late."
"I got a little caught up at Chris's place."
"Yeah, well you can tell me about it later, right now we have a meeting with Mr. Coppola upstairs."
"Well, what're you waiting for girl," Justin said walking toward the elevator. Ashley sighed and followed Justin onto the elevator.
Sidney left Chris's house after talking to Theresa some more and spending some time with the twins. She told her about her "encounter" with Justin. Sidney was always the professional, hard-ass type of woman but she found herself acting like those sappy girls she had always pitied. She found it ironic that Justin had the power to make her forget her own name. She didn't know the exact reason why but she liked the feeling of, what was possibly, love. She was on her way back to her home when she heard her cell ring. She reached in her purse and pulled out her phone. "Hello?"
"Hey Sid."
"Alex?"
"Yeah, how are you?"
"Um, fine I guess." Alex was the last man Sidney was involved with before Justin. Sidney truly believed he was her first love. He had dark brown hair, hazel eyes, and was about 6 ft. He was the perfect example of the expression "tall, dark, and handsome." But their bond was severed when his company sent him to Toronto. It had been almost 2 years since he left and they barely spoke, now here he was calling her cell phone. "Alex, what...I mean where are you?"
"I'm in LA."
"Really? Why?" "Well, my company called me back here for the moment, but who knows where I'll be next."
"Wow, I mean it's strange to hear from you."
"Yeah I know, I hesitated on calling you but I had to hear your voice."
"It's good to hear you too."
"So, I hear you've become quite popular in the fashion world."
"Yeah well, I have you to thank." When Sidney first got into fashion, it was Alex who supported her, emotionally as well as financially.
"No, you did it on your own Sid. You didn't need me."
"That's a lie, I don't know where I'd be if you weren't there for me."
"Well, I'm here now."
Sidney paused, not knowing what to say.
"Look Sid, I don't know how long I'll be in LA and I was wondering if we could catch up on old times, what do you say?"
"Uh sure, of course."
"Great, how about we start with dinner tonight at our old restaurant."
"I'd love...oh wait, I have other plans for tonight."
"Oh."
"But how about we meet for lunch tomorrow?"
"That's fine, I'll call you later."
"Okay bye."
"Bye."
Sidney put her cell back and sighed. She felt she was completely content with being with Justin but all of her feelings for Alex weren't gone. She knew if she wasn't careful, she could get herself into a lot of trouble.
JC, Michelle, and Tyler arrived at the park and Tyler ran to the playground. He started climbing and running around with a few other kids that were there.
"Don't wander away Ty and be careful," JC yelled after him.
He and Michelle went to sit on a nearby bench. Michelle felt unusually nervous around JC. She had never met a man who had all great qualities. Michelle knew she was falling hard for JC and she hoped that he would soon feel the same way.
"So Michelle, what do you do? You didn't talk much about your life when we were at the party."
"Well, there's not much to talk about really. I'm a fashion photographer, I travel all over but my home is LA, my family lives in St. Louis, and I love my life. That's my life in a nutshell!"
"I'd say so, but it sounds like a pretty nice life."
"It has it's ups and downs but I'm stuck with it."
JC smiled. He loved how confident yet down-to-earth Michelle was. He found himself attracted to her in every way, which kinda scared him.
"Look JC, I'm sorry if this is blunt, but I haven't stopped thinking about you since the party. I mean I don't meet too many men who are as wonderful as you."
"Don't apologize, I'm glad you called me and are here with me now." JC reached up and caressed Michelle's cheek. He leaned forward and gently pressed his lips to hers. Michelle slowly put her hands on his face. JC suddenly had an image of Tracy flash in his mind. He quickly pulled away.
"What's wrong JC?"
"I'm sorry Michelle, it's just..." JC turned away, not being able to look her in the eye. He glanced toward the playground where Tyler was playing but there was something wrong. JC couldn't see Tyler. He stood up and started walking to the playground. Michelle was walking by his side.
"JC what is it?"
"Tyler, where is he?" JC became more nervous as he neared the playground.
"Tyler!" JC yelled.
"Tyler!" Michelle joined in.
There were about 15 kids there now but JC didn't see him. His son was no where to be seen. JC felt like his heart was ripping in two. I can't lose him too. Oh God please no. JC scanned the park as tears formed in his eyes. "TYLER WHERE ARE YOU?!"
