Yesterday

"Justin, I can't do this anymore; neither one of us is happy with the way things are going," Lindsay said through her tears.

"Well, how do you think I feel Linz, I've tried to be there for you but you knew in the beginning how much time my career takes up!"

"I thought I could handle it but it just isn't working out anymore!"

Justin hung his head and ran his hands through his brown curls. He didn't want to believe it, but Lindsay was right. They had tried to make their relationship work but it just wasn't. She lived in NY and they hardly ever saw eachother.
"So this is it, huh?" he finally said.

"Yeah, I guess it is."

Lindsay's blue eyes were full of tears. She avoided Justin's stare because she knew she would not have the strength to go through with this if she looked into those baby blues.

"We were happy once, weren't we?" he whispered.

"Very happy."

"But you're not anymore."

"And neither are you."

Justin felt a tear fall down his cheek as he quickly wiped it away. He moved closer to Lindsay and gently brushed his lips on her cheek, kissing away a fallen tear. He backed away as Lindsay finally got the courage to look him in the eyes.

"Good-bye Lindsay," he said softly.

He turned and walked out her apartment door.

"Good-bye Justin," she whispered and collapsed into a ball on the floor.

Yesterday we said our last good-byes
Darling, yesterday we gave it one last try
Though we often said that we would never let it come to this
I have nothing left to give
I can only sit and think of yesterday

~3 months later~

"Lindsay, would you come on already!"

"I don't think I can do this Lisa--I'm just gonna go back home; you go on."

"Oh no, you're not getting out of it that easily," Lisa said pulling Lindsay's arm.

They were in the lobby of the Plaza Hotel in NY. Lisa was Joey's gf and one of Lindsay's best-friends. The guys were in town for a concert and Lisa had dragged Lindsay down with her to meet up with them.

"It's been hard enough getting through these past months and I'm finally starting to feel normal again--I can't see him Lisa."

"You can't hide from him forever girl, now let's go!!"

The girls got into the elevator and took it up to the guys' room. As they walked to their door, Lindsay thought her heart would pound out of her chest.

"Everything will be fine, just relax," Lisa said before she knocked on the door.

The door opened and they were greeted by the friendly smile of Lance.

"Hey girls, how are you guys?" he said giving each of them a hug.

"We're good," Lisa said and rushed past him to find Joey.

"How are you doing Lindsay?" he said softly.

"I'm fine Lance; it's good to see you."

He smiled and led her inside their suite. Lindsay breathed a sign of relief that Justin didn't answer the door. She was starting to calm down right when a familiar face walked into the living room area.

"Hey guys, when are we..." Justin trailed off when he saw Lindsay standing in the middle of the room.

There eyes met for the first time in 3 months. Lindsay felt all of those forgotten feelings surge through her body; feelings of happiness, pain, joy, heartache, and love. Justin swallowed hard and crossed the room to her.

"Hi Linz--it's been a while."

"Well, you know how it is."

"Yeah."

The two stared into eachother's eyes and saw that there would always be something there but the problem was that they refused to accept it.

Baby, that look upon your face
Never a tear that I have shed
We're so far beyond the point of no return
But I can't let this go, my love
So inside I must remember baby
