Baltimora è il nome d'arte del cantante e ballerino nordirlandese Jimmy McShane, nato il 23 maggio 1957 e morto dolorosamente di AIDS il 29 marzo 1995. Gli altri componenti del gruppo, o per meglio dire del progetto musicale che vollero chiamare Baltimora, erano Maurizio Bassi e Naimy Hackett, autori di tutti i brani. Il brano per cui Baltimora è passato alla storia del pop anni ottanta si intitola Tarzan Boy, ed è del 1985. Il pezzo ebbe grande successo in Europa, piazzandosi ai primi posti nelle classifiche italiana ed inglese. Anche negli USA il singolo divenne molto popolare, soprattutto perché fu adottato in uno spot commerciale e nella colonna sonora del film "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III". Non saprei avvalorare la voce secondo cui il testo del brano alluda all'omosessualità del cantante. L'album da cui era tratto Tarzan Boy, dello stesso anno, si chiama Living in the Background. Nel 1987 altro album, Survivor in love, e altro singolo di punta, Key Key Karimba, che entrò in classifica ma non fece sfracelli.
