A very low-key warm-up for the Reading Festival - the musicpress never even found out about it!
The hall only held about 300 people, and it was one of the hottest gigs I've ever been to - we were standing on a table at the side, and we were soaked through!
The band did two sets as they had to go off after about forty minutes to cool off by sitting in the pub car park!
The set was played like a Ramones show, with barely a second gap between songs. MARK WOODLEY
The band has used the Futurist to rehearse that week, and were clearly enjoying the opportunity to play in a smaller venue, as the tour was to take in some of the country's biggest cattle sheds.
They were on their finest form, performing all their classics with a handful of new material.
The sound was crisp and clear, although there was a feeling that a smidgen of extra volume might not have gone amiss.
Anyone who missed the show, with tickets at the price of a fiver, should kick themselves. DAMIAN HOLMES
