*~Hi everybody! My name is Hailey, the
concert was SO FUN! I wanted to tell everybody about it. So here goes...*~
Okay I got up early and got dressed..fixed my hair..all that jazz. Met my friend MICHELLE :-) at the Max train in Portland. We went to Fred Meyer to get some supplies to make our signs for the show.
We took a bus to her grandma's house, ate some lunch, and began on our signs. My sign was on flourescent green paper with black block letters that said "Take a Look, I'm Legal" and Michelle's was flourescent pink and said "Let Me Ride The Train" (referring to Kevin)....Once that was doen we did our make-up and hair and left to go to catch the Max to the Rose Garden.
So we get to the Rose Garden around 5:30. (be advised it was raining and everything was soaked...THANKFULLY we had umbrellas!) As we are waiting in line, in the rain, there are LOTS of VERY LOUD girls singing Backstreet Boys songs at the top of their lungs and screaming for their favorite guy. SO Michelle and I struck up a conversation with some people around us and we were laughing at the girls. I am only 19, but standing in that line seeing all the little girls, I felt so OLD ! LOL so we wait in line for about 45 minutes before they open the doors. The sign said "NO FLASH" instead of "NO CAMERA" so we were happy we brought our cameras.
After we were on, our next mission was to get some merchandise. When we first got in, we got the tourbook and one of those necklace things with the laminate. Then we went to go find a friend of mine that was working one of the merchandise booths. He gave us the hook up on some merchandise - so we got some free stuff which was awesome!!
So here is where the GOOD PART kicks in...we go to find our seats (which we knew were gonna be good cuz they were 15th row on the floor). I brought my binoculars just in case....so we get down there and the lady is supposed to show us to our seats. The rows were numbered with tape and they only went to Row 12. We were getting a little nervous that maybe the guys who sold us the tickets had tricked us. The lady takes us to this guy who has a big stack of tickets with him and talks to him for a moment. When she turns around, she says "Okay. They sold yickets for rows they didn't end up setting up, so we are upgrading your seats to row 9." We're like "HEY, that's fine!" so we follow her around to where are seats are. But here is the catch - the way the seats were set up, our Row 9 was actually FOURTH ROW!!!!! Michelle and I are sitting there thinking OH MY GAWD!!! WE ARE SO CLOSE!!! The stage was like TEN FEET AWAY!!! It was amazing!! We were so lucky!!!
I'm gonna skip the whole part about the opening acts cuz they did nothing for me...Mandy Moore looks like a 12 year old trying to be 30..like a pip-squeak Britney Spears; EYC is just gross to me straight up. That one guy with the dreads looks like that muppet with the dreads..eeewwww...and he looks better when his glasses are on......Their faces look too old and their bodies look too young.....so I wasn't feeling their performance.
Now let me just state that the opening acts mainly performed on the opposite side of the stage from us so we were hoping that BSB would be on our side some when they came out.
So amidst the loud screams fro BSB and people doing the wave as the camera guys set up for the simulcast, some music was playing that made ya feel the Boyzz were coming out any minute.. lol...SO we had our cameras ready (Michelle had a kick-ass ZOOM) and we were waiting for the show to start. Around 9, the lights finally went out. The Star Wars music played and the lights were flashing; fog starting coming out of the ceiling things and where the boys were gonna come out of. We stared at the place we knew they would emerge from and finally saw the cables shaking and new it wasn't much longer. The dancers came out and had lights on poles - all that good stuff...SO FINALLY they come up from this area with the boards on their feet...They were RIGHT ABOVE our heads!!!!! Nick had to move his board up so he wouldn't hit peoples' hands. I was staring up at them and smiling cuz I couldn't belive they were like 5 feet away from me. Brian saw me and smiled really big and waved; he was very cute. They ALL looked great! I was amazed at how good they look in person.
So they land and line up and go around the stage..then break out into dancing.....I don't remember everything individually now cuz it all is jumbled into a whole two hours of excitement in my head..I just remember the highlights...
So many little things happened, I wouldn't know how to explain..BUT it was a very memorable experience and I can't believe I got so lucky!! It was SO worth the money I spent to get the tickets!!!
SO that is my story...I think that's all LOL :-) I hope you enjoyed it! I DID!!
