~*My name is Lisa R., I am 16 years old and from Southeastern Kentucky. The best tour that I have seen so far, has been the Backstreet Boys "Into the Millennium tour".*~
On November 27, 1999, in Lexington, KY. The Backstreet Boys put on the best show. The night started out with the ever so hot band EYC, followed by Mandy Moore, singing her hit song "Candy". Following the opening acts was a short break, then came the big show, I had prayed for. With the "Empirial March," from "Star Wars" playing in the background, figures in white robes came out carrying torch like poles, with lights attached to the end. To the left out of a box set aside the stage, the Backstreet Boys came hovering out on futuristic looking surfboards wearing futuristic looking clothing. As soon as the smoke arose, the crowd started screaming (including me). A.J. did his sinister laugh, starting out the song "Larger Than Life", almost everyone was up and dancing, singing along with the guys. The guys afterwards introduced theirselves, one on each side of the stage, shaped like a pentagon. A.J. Mclean was on our side, each telling the crowd how happy they were to be there. Song by song followed, including songs from their new album "Millennium," songs such as "I Want It That Way," and "Don't Want You Back," and many more! They also sang songs from their previous album "Backstreet Boys," including "As Long As You Love Me." And songs from their Canadian album, songs including one of my favorites "That's the Way I Like It!" During one of the songs (one of the slower ones) I was sitting at the edge of the second level, waving at the guys, hoping and praying that they would look up and wave. Well, I was told after the concert that while I was waving and I guess talking to my best friend Holly, Brian looked up and waved at me! How did she know he was waving at me? Well, because I was told that I was the only one sitting on the edge waving, and that he looked right at me and waved! Totally cool! Then the concert was almost over when they started singing "The Perfect Fan." During that song I watched them sing, held on to my mom, and cried. The part that really gets to me, is when Kevin sings "In hopes I can get back to you and be the perfect son." That part really choked and still kinda chokes me up! Over all the concer was the greatest, and was well worth two trips to the Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY. Hour of waiting in line. One trip unsuccessful, the next a success! THANKS TO MY FAITH IN GOD!!!! THANK YOUUUUUU!!!!!!! Being interviewed for tv, saying that if I didn't get tickets this time I would talk to scalpers, and then me and my friends weren't put on air! BUT then after the concert on November 27, 1999, was one of the many people including my neighbor, my best friend Holly, and my mom, and a few dozen other girls were on tv! On the Eleven O'Clock News, singing "I Want It That Way!" My neighbors husband was at home and saw us all, and the camera man like zoomed in on my mom! As I was standing there holding my U.K. Wildcat, and my friend Ashley, all on tv! It was cool! A very memorable event! And I am very thankful for it!
