Enticed by the melodic rock style of the Ka Kui era Beyond, Brian made a vow to learn the instrument that fueled their sound: the electric guitar. Starting on a generic brand electric guitar, he used the 1991 Beyond concert as an instructional tape. Many viewings later enabled him to reproduce much of the guitar antics demonstrated by Paul Wong. Beyond served as a foundation to his guitar education.
