Latin Percussion is used in Latin music originating in Middle and South America It adds much of a "groove" to music, whether concert or Latin.

In a Latin performance, the percussion can be an integral part of the performance, having a solo or two, whereas in a concert setting, they are used just as traps (unless the performance is of Latin style, of course)

Latin Percussion is often used in concert settings as well.
