The year is 2000...
The Corrupt Boy is on the loose...
Johnny B. Rude has been reborn...
And the Struggle has begun...
Welcome to the home of PIN metal - the home of Permanent Smile. More than five years ago while metal was fading away, we were just beginning. Today, we are still pressing forward, albeit quite slowly. You see, Permanent Smile is a side project for all of us. It would be quite grand if it were indeed the main focus in each of our lives. Perhaps, one day, it will be. One thing that will never fade with us, is our love for metal. Whether it be creating the music, or listening to it, we will always be true to metal. That is our main focus in music writing. We are not a professional band, nor are we really a local act. We are our own entity. Not many get to hear us play, but we do have fun playing for ourselves. The only way any of you will probably get to hear us is by the sound files located on this site. We are based out of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada although some of us don't take permanent residence there anymore. This is one big reason why we are not a full time band. Enough about that though. It's time for you to check out who we are and what we do.

What Is PIN Metal?
PIN metal is the wave of the future. It takes pure genius to combine all these things: (P)unk, (I)ndustrial, (N)oise and classic types of metal. However, since we have expanded to more types of music such as gothic, acoustic, hardcore rap, etc. it is impossible to come up with a new term. Thus, PIN metal sticks because it stands out and gains your interest. No other band that we know of combines everything that we do. For further definition of this and other terms we use, check out our terminology page.
What We Play
Obviously, we play PIN metal. We play mostly original songs, but we are working on covers of Life of Agony, Type O Negative, Fear Factory, Sheer Terror, and many more. Can't you just wait to hear us now? Here is a list of our songs, some of which will appear on our next album:
Here is a direct link to the files in case you don't have time to wait for streaming. You may have to right-click in order to download because I was having some problems. Try it for yourself.
Samples you find above are in the real audio format. Please also note. These samples are not of CD or even demo tape quality. Some of these songs are even early in their development. We recorded these samples in my basement in Sarnia with only one guitar, a shitty vocal amp and drums. There is no bass in these samples (unless otherwise noted). We also used a shitty tape recorder to record in most cases. In other cases the best we used was a 4 channel mike mixer. We simply have not had the time or money as of yet to get into a studio. We have also had little practice time over the past few years due to schooling and such. Anyway, listen to the samples and let us know what you think. We will continue to record more songs and hopefully, in better quality. If you ever want a copy of the songs on a tape, let us know and we'll see what we can do.
Pictures Related to
Songs
This
is Nick Palumbo, the inspiration behind "Ferengi Wop". He is an
english teacher at the high school we attended. Can you figure out why we named
the song what we did?
These
pictures are of Paul Bernardo. Thus we get the name for the "Bernardo"
song. For those of you who don't know, Paul Bernardo commited some cruel crimes
in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada. In our song we sing about his acts of
molestation. We hope that no one follows in his footsteps, but we also realize
that it is unlikely. It is sad in our society today that we have viscious people
such as this, kidnapping and raping/molesting young teenagers. What makes it
worse is that he did it in front of his wife. This is such a travesty. Please do
not follow in his footsteps.
These
pictures are of talk show host Jerry Springer. He is the main inspiration for "The
Jerry Springer Show". What the song is actually about is the way the media
tries to control our lives. We are sick and tired of hearing all the lies on TV.
Jerry is a big contributor to these lies.
These
pictures contribute to the idea for "Kermit the Fag". It is people
like this who ruin the safety of our "nice suburban neighbourhoods".
This
is about the most friendship bound group of people you will ever meet. This is
why we call them the Get-Along Gang and thus our song "Get-Along Gang"
is formed. They are a bunch of geeks, dweebs, snobs and annoying people. Two of
them, Bryan Tolsen (aka Biff Tunney) and Kerry Loten, are practically married.
This was the case back in high school anyway. Biff and Kerry tied the knot in the summer of 98.
This
picture is related to the song "Chicken Snatch". As you could probably
tell, she was part of the Get-Along Gang. The reasons for her being related to
the song are too vulgar to display here.
