I think the last three records had the edge taken off them, to be honest. Over the last few albums, we developed a style and went with that. It was our decision but the way we recorded sorta homogenised a lot of the edge out. The playing was good, the songs were there and all that, but when you go in and cut a track and the only thing you seem to be worried about is a good drum track before you re-do everything else track by track, it just seems to take a whole lot away from the performance. - The Guitar Magazine, March 1997
