Films i have seen of late bit...

This page is going to consist of short reviews of films I have seen and thought were worth reviewing. Somewhere on the page I will include simply names and ratings of films (crap or otherwise). Expect reviews on all Hal Hartley films as he is my favourite director!

CLASSIC QUOTE:
I saw this Woody Allen film recently called "Crimes and Misdemeaners". It was a pretty good 3 star flick. And I thought I would share a classic quote from it with you!
Woody Allen: "Last time I was inside a woman was when I visited the Statue of Liberty!"
- talking of his characters marriage, which incedently has been plutonic for over a year.

Short reviews
(ie. not giving too much away!)

Trust
director: Hal Hartley

A very fulfilling (to watch) film about a high school dropout who has fallen pregnant due to a high school jock.
When she finally tells her parents, her father simultaneously has a heart attack and dies, so of course her mother blames her for her fathers death.
She is on the street for a while, and meets up with a local man who is classed as a "crazy" as he carries a grenade everywhere with him, just in case he ever needs it.
The story is about their life and friendship and people around them, and how the family treats the daughter.
Starring Adrienne Shelley (Teresa's Tattoo) and Martin Donovan as the main characters, it is absolutely stunning.

Ferris Beuller's Day Off

Ferris (Matthew Broderick) is his high schools hero. An absolute legend in the eyes of most.
He is very much a con-artist and joker and decides he shall take a day off of school, which also involves his best friend and his girlfriend.
So Ferris' day on the town turns out to be quite odd and by the end of it his entire community thinks he is dying from some strange disease.
A favourite 80's comedy of mine, please watch.
