Jim Haggerty's Rock N Roll Party

GET THIS!!!

Well, its almost four years, well over 50 shows, countless live performances, interviews, and videos, and Jim Haggerty's Rock N Roll Party continues to rock New York. Once described as the show that was stomping from area to area in New York like Godzilla, the show has become synonymous with great rock television, showcasing the biggest names-Iron Madien, Motorhead, Warrant, Geezer Butler, Slaughter, Overkill, Raging Slab, Great White, Anthrax and Brother Cane, just to name a few-in heavy rock. Religiously watched and video-taped by legions of fans in the Long Island and New York City area(where the show is currently picked up in over two million homes) the show and its charismatic host, Jim Haggerty, have become legends in the rock community.

"I got this crazy idea for a show from an interview with Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead, "Haggerty says. "he was saying that rock fans that are fed up with the mainstream should start their own shows. So I had this crazy idea about putting together a show around bands I like, and that a lot of people still like. Who knew so many people would embrace the show? Who knew this would still be going four years later? Who knew it would be this big?

And it keeps getting bigger. A few months ago,the Jim Haggerty's Rock N Roll Newsletter was launched as an e-mail project, to spread the word of the show and other rock news to the fans.

"Well, we were always threatening to start a newsletter," Haggerty laughs. "We wanted to update people on the show, let them know what's going on-who's going to be on next week, who we just interviwed, and just general rock music. Also, its a good forum for the fans to comment on things, I post answers to letters, we have contests and give-aways, its great"

But the technological advances of Jim Haggerty's Rock N Roll Party does not end with the newsletter. In June, Jim Haggerty's Rock N Roll Web Site got off the ground, so that Jim's show has finally found a place on the web, and can now become national.

"Its still very much in its infancy, but God, If I start talking about all the things I'm going to do with it, I'd never shut up." Jim says excitedly. "We're going to add graphics and pictures, an archives section that will feature transcriptions of past interviews, a concert and album review section, a recollection section where I'll tell some stories behind some of our famous or infamous shows and guests, there's going to be a message board, and so much else."

"But what's most important about the web-site," says Haggerty. "Is that it will give fans beyond the New York area the chance to see the show. For the first time we're selling all the episodes by mail-order through the site. I would send out episodes free on demand, if I couLd, but we have to charge a little something to cover costs and to have it done properly, so that everyone gets the best technical quality possible. But now people all over can get to know the show and start seeing it. Now its going national, baby!"
