What was THE EXPERIENCE? it was a rock band formed by Jimi Hendrix. the band members included Mitch Mitchell, and Noel Redding. and later on Billy Cox. the best sounding trio in the history of Rock-N-Roll. some say not. but think about what Hendrix did in his four short years. he changed the sound of Rock-N-Roll as we know it today. and I'm glad he did because Hendrix is ROCK-N-ROLL!. 

A short biography of Jimi Hendrix 

What is purple haze?
It's the name of a song. I always thought Jimi was singing about LSD-25 (purple barrel acid). that's NOT the case. from what I read Purple haze is about a dream Jimi had. and he named the song about the dream.

Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding: Mitchell was overshadowed by Hendrix, but we must not forget he played a big part in the Jimi Hendrix Experience. it's the same for Noel Redding. these guys played with Jimi Hendrix and deserve credit for the music we listen to today. Noel was a guitar player when he meet Hendrix. he switched to bass just to play with Hendrix.

Hendrix loved his guitars. he mostly used Fender Stratocaster's. 

Amplifiers: Marshals 100 watt lead. 

Guitar: Fender dual showman - Fender champ
Fender twin reverb amplifier and a 1/2 stack Marshall. he used it mostly for recording. 

Fender Stratocaster, as the other one too.
