The $wingin' Utter$ work with a style reminiscent of the late-70s British punk scene, incorporating a sound much like Sham 69, though with a much more American outlook. Not as calculatedly revolutionary as many early oi! bands, Swingin' Utters never the less puts an emphasis on social commentary. While producing striking latter-day oi!, the $wingin' Utter$ rely more on tradition and formula than innovative musicianship. | ||||||||||||||||
Fat Wreck Chords take on the band: Swingin' Utters have been playing since the late '80s or early '90's depending on who you talk to. They started out in Santa Cruz but decided to move to San Francisco. Their stuff sounds a lot like early punk from England but it's somehow really new at the same time. Everyone in the band is really scary looking, but they're all really nice guys. |

What about Kevin now? Kevin got his masters degree, and is now a highschool english teacher. He is also playing bass for the Workin' Stiffs now. What's with the nickname "Peebucks"? Jonny Bonnel got wasted and pissed in his pants. He then went to Taco Bell and Jonny went to pay for his food and handed them wet dollar bills. The employee at Taco Bell wondered if he had been swimming, but Jonny replied, "No I pissed my pants", and handed him the dollar. Who is spike? Spike Slawson is also the singer for Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. |
