Chapter 7

"AJ, you've been kina quiet," Kevin stated.  "Something wrong?"
"What?" AJ asked as he looked up.  "Sorry, I wasn't really listening."
   "Obviously," Catherine said.
"So what are we gonna do now?" Aleesha asked.
   "Dunno," Catherine replied.
Suddenly there was a loud crack of thunder and rain started pouring down.  Kevin, Catherine and
AJ jumped up and ran for cover while Aleesha just sat there.
"A little rain never hurt anyone," Aleesha laughed as she stood up and started spinning round in
 circles with her arms outstretched.
"Aleesha!"  Catherine screamed with laughter when she turned back and saw that Aleesha wasn't
 coming.
   "What?" Aleesha laughed, still spinning.
"Get out of the rain shouted AJ as he ran back to her and grabbed her hand.
Catherine and Kevin ran into the empty gym, leaving Aleesha and AJ outside in the rain.
"Great, I'm all wet," Catherine stated.  "Now my hair's gonna friz."
   "It looks fine," Kevin stated.
   "Are you sure?" Catherine asked.
"Yeah," Kevin replied.  "You look great."

"Aleesha, come inside," Aj said, pulling on her arm.
"I'm just having fun," Aleesha stated.  "What's wrong with that?"
"You're gonna get sick standing out here in the rain," AJ said.  "Please come inside."  Suddenly AJ
pulled hard on Aleesha's hand and she stumbled into his arms.
"Kiss me," AJ said, holding her tightly.
"What?  Are you kidding?" Aleesha asked.  "Me, kiss you, I don't..."  Aleesha was stopped when AJ
 kissed her.  "AJ, what..."
AJ kissed her again, not letting her speak.
"I'm sorry, I just had to do that," AJ stated as he pulled away from her.  Aleesha looked at him for a
second, they were both soaking wet from the rain and AJ had water running down his face.
Aleesha smiled at him, then kissed him back.

"Aleesha, girl, you're crazy," Catherine stated as Aleesha and AJ finally ran into the gym.
"Why?" Aleesha asked, glancing at AJ.
"Hello, you were just dancing in the rain!" Catherine replied.
"Yeah, okay," Aleesha said.  "So what's the plan?  We gonna hang here until it stops raining?"
"I say we make a run for my car," Kevin suggested.
"sounds cool to me," AJ replied.  "let's go."

"You better be parked close," Catherine said as they ran back across the football field.
"Yeah I am, it's over there," Kevin stated, pointing to the black Toyota 4-Runner in the student
 carpark.
   "Lucky," Catherine smiled.
"C'mon, Aleesha," AJ said, she'd dropped back a little bit behind them.
"Yeah, yeah," Aleesha replied, running a little faster.
"Here, come on," AJ said, slowing down a little bit so she could catch up and grabbed her hand.
   "Thanx," she smiled.
"C'mon, guys," Kevin called back.  "Hurry up!"

"Thanx for the lift, Kevin," Aleesha said as she stepped from the car.  "I'll catch ya's tomorrow."
   "Bye Aleesha," AJ smiled.
   "Laterz, chicky," Catherine said.
"See ya," Kevin replied as he drove off.

"See ya man," AJ said as he pulled into AJ's driveway.
"See ya tomorrow, AJ," Catherine said.
"Catch ya, Bone," Kevin replied as he sped off down the street.

"So," Catherine said as Kevin stopped outside her house.
"Yeah, ummm," Kevin said uncomfortably.  "I want to thank you for today."
"What did I do today?" Catherine asked.
"You and the other ladies were actually nice to the fellas today," Kevin stated.
"Why does that surprise you so much?" Catherine asked.  "We're actually pretty nice once you get
 to know us."
   "I know that," Kevin stated.
"Ummm, I should probably go," Catherine said.  "I'll talk to ya tomorrow."
"Yeah, okay," Kevin replied.  "See ya."
