Haley was getting ready for bed and she still hadn’t called Brian. She wanted to, but she wanted to also give herself a little time to recover from the embarrassment. she has caused herself. She was in her bathroom washing her face before she went to bed. She had already brushed her teeth, changed into her baby blue silk night gown, and put her hair in a high pony tail. “I will call Brian tomorrow.”, she vowed to herself. There was a knock at the door. She figured it was her mom so she said “Come in!” She was standing at her computer turning it off. She turned around to see Brian standing by her bed with his hands in his pockets. “Hi Haley.”, he said nervously. “Uh...what are you doing here?”, she stammered. “Your mom let me in. I think we need to talk.”, he said looking at the ground. “I wanted to call you but I was having trouble facing you after what I did.”, Haley said sitting down on her bed clutching a pillow. “What do you mean after what you did?”, Brian asked confused. Haley motioned for him to sit on the bed next to her. “Brian, don’t play dumb. I talked to your mom in the store today.”, Haley said staring intently at the pillow. “You did? So you know everything huh?”, Brain asked looking around the room. “Well, I know what your mom told me.” “Haley, I am going to come clean now.”, Brian said taking a deep breath. “I don’t like Kameron. I just told you that because I didn’t want to tell the truth and embarrass myself. I wasn’t sure if you liked me or not so I lied. The truth is...I like you Haley.”, he said sweetly moving his hand to her face and turning it towards him. She smiled blinking back tears. He wiped them away with his thumb. “I like you too Brian.” “I am sure glad we got that cleared up. I didn’t get any sleep last night because of you!”, he said then laughed. She laughed with him and crawled so she was lying in his arms. There was silence for a little while. “Haley?” “What?”, she asked. “Can I kiss you?”, Brian asked like a true gentleman. “Did you even have to ask?”, she said turning so she was facing him.

“I am just trying to do this right!”, he said flirtatiously smiling as he leaned closer to her face. Their lips met for the first time in a slow romantic kiss. Brian ran his hand through Haley’s hair as he kissed her. Haley had her arms around Brian’s neck. They broke the kiss, looked at each other, and smiled. “You’re a good kisser.”, Haley said teasing him. “Thanks, you’re not so bad yourself.”, he said running a finger over her lips. “If I had known it was going to be that good, I would have kissed you when I first met you in chemistry class!”, she said laughing and playing with his hair. “You sure know how to flatter a guy!”, he said flapping his eyelashes. “You’re a goofball Brian!” “I know.” “Well, as much as I hate to break this up, I better get out of here before your mom gets the wrong idea.”, he said kissing Haley on the nose. Haley whimpered but agreed. “I’ll call you tomorrow babe.”, he said getting up. “Okay, goodnight.”, Haley said getting under the covers. “Goodnight.”, he said tucking her in. He kissed her once more, turned out the light, and left the room. Haley smiled and closed her eyes.
