“Where are we going Brian?”, Haley asked tugging on Brian’s shoulder as they drove. “You are not a patient person are you?”, Brian said glancing at Haley. “No I am not!” “Well, you can wait about 2 more minutes can’t you?”, Brain asked with a look that made her give in. “Okay, but only because I have to.”, she said and folded her arms. Brian laughed and said “We’re here!” “Oh my goodness!”, Haley said when she saw where they were. In front of them was the lake and the sun was setting. “It’s beautiful Brian.”, Haley said leaning over and kissing him. “I thought you would like it. Now you wait here a second.” He got out of the car and went to the passenger side and opened Haley’s door. “Why thank you Mr. Littrell. You are a true gentleman.”, she said as she took his hand and got out of the car. Brian opened the trunk and removed a blanket and a picnic basket. “You thought of everything didn’t you?”, she said as he led her to the pier. He put down the basket and spread out the blanket when they reached the end of the pier. “So, did you pack the food or did your mom do it?”, Haley asked coyly. “You don’t want to eat my cooking. I can make mac&cheese but that’s about it. So it was Mom to the rescue.”, he said taking out the food. “Your mom is a nice person.”, Haley said looking at all the food. “So is your mom. Plus, my mom likes you.”, he said brushing her cheek with his hand. Haley placed her hand over his. “My mom likes you too.” “So, let’s see what my mom cooked.”, he said looking. “Hmmm...we have salad, lasagna, chicken, cookies, and cider.”, he said unwrapping the food. “You mom is a woman after my heart.”, Haley said joking. “No, that’s my job.”, Brian said looking in her eyes. Their faces inched towards each other. Their lips brushed together in a kiss. Haley could feel Brian’s tongue so she parted her lips. Their tongues met in passion. After the kiss, they were left breathless. “Wow.”, they both said simultaneously. This mad them both laugh. They began to eat.

After they were finished they packed up the leftovers and just sat on the dock talking. Brian was laying on his back and Haley was cuddled up next to him. He was playing with her hair. “I have something to give you.”, Brian said raising up. Haley sat up as well. “What is it?”, she asked curiously. “My mom and I went shopping yesterday and we found this.”, he said pulling out a silver band with a diamond heart in the middle. “It’s a promise ring. It is my promise to you that you will always be special to me.”, he said slipping the band on her finger. “Oh Brian. Thank you.”, she said knocking him over and showering him with kisses. “I also have something else to ask you.”, he said. “What?” “Well, 2 thing actually. First, since the prom is coming up, will you be my date? And 2nd, will you be my official girlfriend?” “Yes and yes.”, she said smiling. “Good.”, he said stealing a kiss. “I guess we better get you home.”, he said pulling her up. “Okay.”, she said folding up the blanket. When they got to Haley’s house, Brian walked her to the door. “That was the most romantic date a guy has ever taken me on. Thank you.”, she said graciously. “Well, you are more than welcome.”, he said grinning. “Goodnight.”, she softly. “Goodnight.”, he said. They shared one last kiss and Haley went in.
