Chapter 39

~* 6:34 a.m. *~

Tara lay across two chairs with her head resting on Isaac's lap. She was really shoken up by the whole incident and she had the greatest fear of hospitals from when her brother died with her holding him to top it all off. Ike ran his fingers through her hair to sooth her nerves. The teens were the only ones currently in the waiting room and yet it was still pretty silent. Jason was lying across one of the benches with Corde lying on the one across the isle from him. They hadn't spoke for what seemed like hours until Isaac broke the uncomfortable silence.

"I wish we knew something." He said looking towards the door only wishing someone might have actually heard him outside the room. But that didn't happen. Corde flipped onto her back and stared at the cieling.

"I'm scared guys." She started to say. Her voice wasn't stable but no one bothered to but in. "I would give anything at this moment to just disappear and forget this ever happened, but I can't." Jason sat up, walked over to Corde's bench and sat next to her head planting a kiss on her cheek where the tears were starting to roll down.

"Everything will be okay." He said trying to calm her down. She only cried more.

"How can you say that? Our two friends were shot by some mad man and you think everything is okay. Nothing is okay until I see both of them out of here." She said through the stream of tears flowing down her face. Suddenly five figures walked through the door. Diana, Walker, Kirsten, David, and Zac bound through the door. Diana and Kirsten face's were red and puffy from crying. Isaac shot up as well as Tara. Corde sat up and wrapped her arms around Jason as he did the same to her. Tara ran to Kirsten and David wrapping her arms around them and crying at the same time. Isaac did the same to his parents. When everything went silent Diana pulled Ike away.

"What happened? How did Taylor and Ali get involved in this?" All eyes were set apon Tara, she was the only one that knew the whole story from the very beginning.

"Why don't we sit down, and I will explain."

~* One hour later*~

"This is so hard to believe." Kirsten said. Now she was sitting next to David with Diana and Walker next to him. Tara, Ike, Jason, and Corde sat across from them along with Zac. Corde had her head on Jason shoulder as he stroked her hair gently, he wanted to cry with her but he hid his tears from her. He too was scared of his best friends life. Zac sat next to Isaac as he held onto Tara's hand as she told the story of Ali. The whole thorough planning of killing Richard, the training, the phone call, and the story behind Richard. It was a lot to take in but the adults took it all very well.

"So, we don't really know anything from before you two fled, right?" The two nodded their heads. "And we don't know where either of them were shot either?" Diana questioned further. The heads nodded again. She leaned back and closed her eyes. Suddenly a man in a white coat walked through the door and toward the families. Everyone jumped to their feet as he strode towards them. He stopped briefly and looked each and everyone of them in the eyes.

"I'm Dr. Jonathon Green. I was the doctor who operated on Taylor Hanson." Diana had trouble controling her breathing after he began to speak. "I was able to remove the bullet from Taylor's shoulder balde, the scapula, but it broke the clavicle, his collar bone as well. He was shot at such a close range that it was a compound break but we were able to set it. He should be perfectly fine after some physical therapy in a couple weeks after the breaks have mended." Diana began to let the salty tears slide down her cheeks. Her Taylor would be okay, badly bruised but okay. "Taylor was lucky he was only hurt there, Mr. and Mrs. Hanson. the close range hurt him but it could have killed him had he been shot only inches to the right of where he was shot." Diane wrapped her arms around Walker and cried softly.

"Do you know what is going on with Aleka Vasquilikis?" Kristen intercepted. Everyone looked at the doctor in silence. He had been cornered and they were not going to let him go until they gave them at least a little info.

"Aleka's condition has not yet been stabilized. The only information I can portray to you is that Aleka was shot it the stomach area at a very critical point. She was lucky the ambulance was there already other wise her chances of 100% recovery would be a miracle." David stepped forward.

"So, she will be alright?" He questioned. Dr. Green searched the hopeful faces.

"We still are not sure. We should know soon, but as I said it is ultimately critical that we take our time to ensure a safe recovery possibility."
