Jc sighed as he pulled his vehicle up the drive. ‘Finally home.’ He thought to himself. He smiled thinking of Zoey, his love, the one that waited inside of the house for him. Jc reached into a pocket of the sports jacket that lay beside him. He felt the small velvet box and smiled. The first time he saw Zoey, JC knew he would ask her to marry him one day. She was beautiful, a tall, athletic body and high cheekbones, bright green eyes and strawberry blonde hair. She had a wonderful personality that attracted everyone to her. She could make anyone laugh and she could also make people cry. To Jc she was an angel from above and he didn’t think anything could ever go wrong.
Jc slipped the sports jacket on and walked up to the front door. He unlocked it with his key and automatically had a bad feeling. “Hello? Zoey are you here?”
“Josh?” Zoey walked out of the main bedroom. “Oh my, what are you doing home?” Zoey was in overalls and had a blue bandana on her head.
“I got a couple days off. What are you doing?”
Zoey’s eyes averted Jc’s as he came up to her. “Ummm… nothing, just cleaning.”
Jc placed his lips on Zoey’s neck. “I see….” He mumbled as he began pushing her toward the bedroom.
Zoey tried to stop him, but Jc was stronger and she was pushed all the way into the main bedroom. She felt Jc’s lips leave her neck.
“What the hell?” Jc looked at Zoey for answers.
Zoey gulped back a fear raising in her throat. “Josh, I’m leaving you.”

Talk to me softly
There's something in your eyes
Don't hang your head in sorrow
And please don't cry
I know how you feel inside I've
I've been there before
Somethin’s changin' inside you
And don't you know

Jc was sure his heart stopped. He felt like he was on a merry-go-round, going faster and faster, and he couldn’t get off. Jc ran for the bathroom trying to hold back the acidic bile that filled his throat and mouth. He emptied his stomach into the white ceramic bowl before him. When he stopped heaving, he stood up and came face-to-face with Zoey.
“Josh are you okay?”
Jc pushed past her and walked to the sink. He ran cool water and splashed some on his face. Grabbing a towel he dried his face and tried to breathe. He walked into the bedroom and looked around. Three suitcases lay on the bed, all half filled with clothes. The closet they shared with each other was half empty with only his clothes left hanging. “Your leaving me?” Jc choked out.
Zoey looked toward the floor but felt her head being pushed back, only to look into his eyes. She blinked back tears. “Yes Josh…I am.”
Jc’s hand dropped from Zoey’s chin. He looked into her eyes. “Why…Zoey, why?”
Silent tears began falling down her cheeks. “Don’t cry Zoey. Just please don’t. Just tell me why.”

Don't you cry tonight
I still love you baby
Don't you cry tonight
Don't you cry tonight
There's a heaven above you baby
And don't you cry tonight

Zoey swiped her hands at her falling tears. “Josh you know I love you. With all my heart I love you but I can’t take you not being here with me. It’s been 2 years now, we’ve been together, but only 8 months of that have we spent physically together. Josh I can’t take it. It’s driving me insane not having you around. I know you love your job, and I can’t make you choose. You make to many people happy when you do what you do. I’m sorry Josh, I love you and I never wanted it to come to this but I have to leave. I need someone who’s around more.”
Tears formed in Jc’s eyes. Sadly he shook his head. He understood her and what she was saying. He loved her but knew there was no way he could change her mind, he read it in her eyes.

Give me a whisper
And give me a sigh
Give me a kiss before you tell me goodbye
Don't you take it so hard now
And please don't take it so bad
I'll still be thinkin' of you
And the times we had...baby

“I’ll let you finish packing.” Jc whispered as he turned to leave. He walked to the living room and stared at the pictures covering the walls. The were all of him and Zoey during the time they had spent together. Most were just of them holding each other, but as Jc’s eyes wondered they fell on his favorite photo. He remembered that morning like it was yesterday.
Jc had been gone for 3 months and only had a day and night before he had to go back. Zoey and Jc had spent the night making love and enjoying each other like they had never before. The fell asleep in each others arms and Jc had managed to slip out of her tight grip early the next morning. He had walked to the kitchen and began making breakfast for his princess. He saw the camera laying on the microwave and immediately took it back into their room. He snapped photos of her, capturing her every curve and angelic face. Zoey had developed the photo’s one day and placed the best looking one in a silver frame. She had given it to him for their next anniversary, and he treasured it. Jc was brought out of his memory by Zoey clearing her throat. Three suitcases sat by the door and she stared at him. Jc couldn’t move. His life was walking out the door and he couldn’t think of anything to say. Jc moved quickly to her, she stood on her tippy-toes and kissed his cheek softly. “I love you Josh, I’m sorry.” Zoey opened the front door and walked out. Jc stood in the doorway and watched her open the car door and get in. She raised her hand in a wave and drove away. Jc closed the door and tears fell down his face. He removed the velvet box from his pocket and walked over to the picture of her.

Jc opened the box and placed the ring in front of the picture. “And this, my princess, is our final goodbye.”
And don't you cry tonight
An don't you cry tonight
An don't you cry tonight
There's a heaven above you baby
And don't you cry
Don't you ever cry
Don't you cry tonight
Baby maybe someday
Don't you cry
Don't you ever cry
Don't you cry
