Welcome to the SOLOCITY website.Let me introduce myself. I'm a music composer and guitarist that has been experimenting with novel and eclectic sounds for some years now. I cover a broad spectrum of musical styles, from latin influences through to heavy metal. My overall musical style is somewhat truly unique, although some overtones are reminiscent of my more important influences, such as Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, Yngwie J. Malmsteen and Edward Van Halen. Ouch, well I had to say it but don't go thinking I'm pretentious. I'm not. Far from it. As far as I'm concerned I don't sound one bit like Jimi, nor Eddie, and ... Yngwie. However I've head comments that said it's reminiscent of them so I thought of sharing it with you. So let's leave it at that:-) These days, maybe more than just a few days, I'm more toward technique than anything else. I like to play "fast" (Yngwie plays fast, I don't) because I think it's fun. I like to jam a lot and my music shows it quite clearly. In fact most of my ideas, if not all, comes from that only. I play an old (1959) Fender Stratocaster that I bought used. Yes used! When I played it the first time, I said: shit I must get that guitar. The next day I was at the store pleading the owner to buy it! Music *moves* me. Sometimes it gets me nuts, othertimes it gets me *totally* nuts, sometimes it gets me terribly happy, sometimes it leads me to want to kiss every girl in site. Well, as you can see, it's a very emotional experience. I'm sure it's the same for you. It's not a matter of style as much as a matter of raw emotions. Once, onstage, where I was really getting crasy, "purists" (had to be) were shocked of my behaviour. As if craziness was not supposed to be part of it. Hey come on, music should grabs you, it should move you. It's perfectly normal to get "crasy" over it. Shit they should look around. I'm certainly not the first, and not the last. Enough of that, time to do some listening. Here are some excerpts of instrumental songs that I wrote:
Sometimes when people hear my music they wonder where everything is comming from. Well it seems obvious to me and to the next musician. In case you were wondering I will explain. All that you've heard is all from me. I use MIDI. I wrote all the music, did everything by myself. When you hear a drum, I wrote the part and it is being played by my either my sampler or my drum machine through MIDI. If you hear a guitar well... heu.. I played it on my strat. Anything else is always written first then played through my sample player which is a Proteus /1. My drum machine is a HR-16, my notation software is Finale. Sometimes for the overall mix I will either use a multitrack, two tapes or live with the sample player and drum machine going at the same time direct to hard disk. By the way I have a CD. Interested? Want to know how to get it? Simple, send me an email request and I'll let you how to get it. A Solo Here's a jam solo that I did some time ago: solo.mp2 (614 Kb) , I hope you like it. I certainly do As you might all know by now, you can also play these mpeg2 files with Winamp. So go ahead! As you can see I have mp2 files instead of mpeg3! I will try to remedy to that shortly.
