Amigo - 'Newspeak' EP

The first track on the self released ‘Newspeak’ EP, “Deep Water / Shallow Moment” is a combination of clashing and melodic guitars with an overlay of potent vocals. The similarities with Radiohead’s “Street Spirit” intro are quickly forgotten, as the tempo soon changes and you can hear what Amigo can really do. They truly take on their own unique style to form an infectious tune. This track is a perfect introduction to the four piece from Bolton. Second track “Flame” is another impressive tune. A sentimental song with highly charged emotion and equal amounts of guitars and percussion. The final track “Road With Cyprus and Star” is not as rockier as the other tunes but it’s still played with the same intentions. A great effort by the lads, they will be heading to the top and not just Manchester.
