I was watching television the other day. I was watching South Park, which lately has been one of the very few shows on with something intelligent to say. Like all sitcoms, there is a commercial right before the ending, usually with nine minutes left. It is fairly standard among sitcoms, as I watched a couple of others to make sure it wasn't a fluke. So anyway, the commercial comes on, and I waited through them to see the rest of the show. After two and a half minutes, the show comes back on for about ten seconds. After ten seconds, the signal was interrupted and the screen went green with letters that said, "Test of Emergency Systems," after which it made a hideous screeching noise. I give my hard earned money to the fucking cable company every month so that I can sit down and watch TV when I feel like it, not so that they can cut off a show at a vital moment. So the show came back on, and the conclusion made very little sense, as I missed a vital minute where the conclusion was set up. Why can't they put the fucking test during the commercial? They make enough money from me sending them money every month to at least pay me that respect. What greedy motherfuckers. If I had another option besides cable, I would undoubtedly take it after that slap to the face. The worst part was that it wasn't just that one channel. It was all of them. Anyone that was taping a program would have had it cut out so that they can run their fucking test over the critical portion of the show. Do you want to know what really burns me up? It was Time Warner Cable, corporate partners with the shitty ISP, America Online. I have an idea for them. Customer Service. What a fucking concept. Dickless corporate whores, every last motherfucking one of them.
