Chapter 11

"Oh my God, Jessi," Taylor said in a state of shock. "I am so sorry," he said as he held out his arms for Jessi. Jessi came to his open arms and cried on his shoulder as Taylor held her and smoothed her hair. It hurt her so much to tell someone about what happened, but she also felt that now she could begin to heal.

"Is there anything else you would like to tell me?" Taylor asked.

"Taylor," she cried, "I feel like no one loves me at all. My parents didn't even care what happened to me! My aunt and uncle don't love me, they just put up with my having to stay here. How can a person live without love?"

"But I love you, Jessi," Taylor said softly.

Jessi pulled her head off of Taylor's shoulder and looked into his blue eyes. "You do?"

"Yes," Taylor said shyly. "You're such a wonderful person. I hate that someone hurt you like he did."

"Oh, Taylor," Jessi exclaimed, "it was so awful! I felt so weak against him and he was so strong and...."

"SShh," Taylor soothed as he put his fingers over her lips, "don't think about it anymore."

"I feel a little better now that I've told someone, but I still have a long process ahead of me."

"I'll be there to help you," Taylor said gently.

"Oh, Taylor," Jessi sighed as she looked into his blue eyes. She then did something she never thought she'd do. She gave him a quick kiss. They both blushed and then smiled at each other's shyness. Then they shared a nice, longer kiss. Jessi smiled after they parted and snuggled her head against Taylor's shoulder. She slept, for the first time without nightmares, that night in Taylor's arms.
