Chapter 15

Before Jessi knew it, the weekend was over, and she was saying farewell to Christina.

"Oh, I'm going to miss you," Christina said as she hugged Jessi.

"I'm going to miss you too," Jessi said. "Can you try to come back for Christmas?"

"I don't know yet. I will try," Christina said through tears.

"Flight 101 to New York, board now," a woman said over the loud speaker.

"Call me," Christina said.

"Of course," Jessi said as she hugged her friend.

"Bye," Christina said and then turned to board her flight. Jessi waved goodbye to her friend and then turned to go home, and face her next week completely alone.

Jessi trudged in her room and collapsed on her bed Friday afternoon. She was exhausted. Every afternoon she had to practice with her singing group, The Four Angels. They were really good. She was doing good in school, but oh how she missed Christina and Taylor. Taylor! she thought as she sat up. He was supposed to be back today! She wondered if he was home yet. She decided to go see. She was almost free when she bumped into Amy.

"Where are you going?" Amy asked.

"To my boyfriend's house."

"Oh, well, be sure to leave a note."

"Forget it!" Jessi said. "There are still notes on the refrigerator from last week!"

Jessi was causally walking towards the Hanson house, but her heart was beating. She had so much to tell Taylor, she just hoped he was back from New York. She had her answer when she turned the corner. Diana and Walker were just unloading the car.

"JESSI!" Jessica, Avery, and Mackenzie yelled together.

"Hey, guys!" Jessi laughed. Jessica, Avery, and Mackenzie started running towards her and she thought they were going to hug her. Avery grabbed her right leg, Jessica grabbed her left leg, and Mackenzie jumped up into her arms. They all toppled to the ground. Jessi laughed as she untangled herself from the three children. "I missed you too," she said as she hugged each one of them. "Did you have fun?"

"Yes!" all three of them shrieked.

"That's great!" she said and smiled. "You'll have to tell me about it."

"Taylor missed you," Jessica said with a giggle. Jessi looked up and saw Taylor's intense blue eyes on her. She smiled and shyly waved.

"Oh, baby, how I missed you!" Zac said and walked to her, kissed both her cheeks, and hugged her.

"Zac, you nut!" Jessi laughed as she returned his hug.

"I did miss you," Zac said and pouted.

"I missed you, too" Jessi said.

"Uh oh, you better watch out, Tay!" Zac said and everyone laughed.

Jessi walked to Taylor. "I missed you," she said sincerely.

"I missed you too," Taylor said as they hugged.

"No one ever misses me," Isaac said and pretended to pout.

"Oh, Isaac," Jessi sighed and gave him a hug. "How was your trip?" she asked the family.

"Tiring," Diana said. "How was your week?"

"About the same."

"How is that group you're in doing?" Walker asked.

"Pretty good," Jessi answered as she grabbed a couple of bags to carry in.

"Hey, Taylor, better keep this one. She likes to help out," Walker said and winked at Jessi.

"Come in and sit down, Jessi," Diana said. "Let's discuss our tiring weeks."
