Chapter 25

"Hello," Zac said.

"Is Taylor there?" Jessi asked.

"Hold on," Zac said and covered the mouth piece. "TAYLOR!!! Your girlfriend is on the phone!"

"Hello," Taylor said.

"Hey, Taylor," Jessi said. "I was planning on having a nice, romantic dinner. Can you come?"

"Yes," Taylor said. "What time should I be there?"

"About an hour and a half," Jessi said.

"OK."

"Taylor?"

"Yes, Jessi?"

"I love you."

"I love you, too."

"I'll see you in a little while," Jessi said.

"OK."

"Bye."

"Bye."

An hour later Jessi paced back and forth. What would she say to Taylor? Should she act like she didn't know? For the next half hour her mind was a whirlwind. Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door, which made her jump off the couch. She opened the door and saw Taylor standing there in tight, white jeans and a denimn shirt. He looked gorgeous! He was holding a single red rose.

"You look gorgeous!" Jessi blurted out before she could stop herself.

"Thanks," Taylor said and blushed. "You look pretty good, too."

"Thank you," Jessi said. This was one of their last few nights together and she hated the tension between them.

"Here," Taylor said as he handed her the rose.

"Thank you, that was so sweet," Jessi said as she smelled the rose. "Come on in," she said as she held open the door. "Sit down and I'll go get our meal," Jessi said. They had a nice, tossed salad, a small steak, a baked potato with butter and sourcream, and some garlic bread.

"That was excellent, Jessi," Taylor said.

"Thank you," Jessi said and took a deep breath. "Before we have desert, lets take our drinks in the living room."

"OK, but why?" Taylor asked.

"Because I need to talk to you," Jessi said.
