NOFX, according to some people,
it'd be the greatest punk band that has ever played. To other
people it's one of the best punk bands of the last ten years. To
others they're just a bunch of silly punks who hardly can play
music. They seem not to care about it anyway. They're not
rockstars or idols they've only wanted to play punkrock for more
than 15 years. Why should they have tried to earn millions, to
appear on MTV ? They just hate that !
Of course, for so much time, they've gotten a well-known name in
the punkrock world but they haven't fall (yet) in commercial
universe - unlike Offspring, Green Day or Bad Religion.
I won't introduce NOFX very deeply because I don't know
everything and if you're very curious you'll be able to find a
better page. NOFX was born about 15 years ago. The band started
with Melvin and Mike Burkett (Fat Mike). The drummer and the
other guitarist were ....... and ........ They began at Mystic
Rec but left because of what was going on there (what???). Brett
Gurewitt (Mr Brett) created Epitaph in 1981 in order to
self-release the records of Bad religion (he's been guitarist, I
guess you knew). In 1987, Epitaph was really born. The kids of
NOFX found shelter at Epitaph and recorded their first
album,Liberal Animation. NOFX's history really started this time.
Liberal Animation, like Maximum Rock'n'Roll and The PMRC can suck
on this, was not very melodic. It's kinda disturbing if you
listened to the last albums at first. Now you're warned. Erik
Sandin joined the band quite early and El Hefe arrived in 1992
with The Longest Line.
So, here comes NOFX !!!! my favourite punk band ! Just for me, you and every asskicker !!!
Yeah, I know, this introducing is quite incomplete but i'm not a friend of theirs so how do you want me to know everything. It's their life and all that matters is what's on your stereo !
