Why your zine is called Popsy Rock?

The meaning of "popsy" is cute pop girl.
The meaning of "rock" is rockin powerful boy.
We feel that the mix of them is so cool and lovely name.


How would you describe your zine for a person that never had seen it?

POPSY ROCK! is the new style magazine for everyone who loves all pop thing in the world. A portable magazine and a few pop items (postcard, paper craft, stickers...etc change on every issue) are inside of seven inch package.


Why are you doing a zine?

We want to make our pop image into something.


Tell me the next Popsy Rock projects (next issues, other activities, website, JPopmania...)

The next issue will be out end of april or early may. featuring interviews with Dimitri from Paris, Varelie Lemercier, stereo total and some articles for "monsieur and mademoiselle".
Our new project will be started soon. It is record label called "bambini". The single of Girlfrendo (swedish amazing pop group) will be out in May.

Our website will be renewal in mid of April (after a year!).

Are you a dj too? Do you play in any band? Tell me your hobbies/activities...

Yes, I play dj. We always play mix of indie pop, lounge, soundtracks, bossa nova,funny jazz sounds and more more 60s to 90s pop sounds. We have ever played with some djs, Fantastic Plastic Machine, Naka and Matsuda (escalator records), Shoichi Kajino (L'appareil-Photo), Nori (Blow Up, London), Danny (Liquidation, Liverpool)...etc and bands, Marbles(US), Yukari Fresh, American Rock, Bagabond Cinema Orchestra, Meton Milk, Capsule Giants...etc


Do you think that the pop journalist/zines writers are frustrated musicians?

No. It differed with individuals.
