The truth about Voodoo is very simple. Voodoo is not what you see on TV. In fact, Voodoo is a religion that can be compared to Catholism. The picture shown above is of my half done alter that lives in my living room. Like this web page, the alter is not finished. This alter was created by adding items to it every so often. If you look close, you can see a figure in the middle who is named "Eshu". Eshu is known as the Lord of the Crossroads, and can be viewed as Christ. Eshu is known to play tricks on people, and to bring them bad luck. To keep this from happening, I bring Eshu presents on a regulary basis. These presents include candy, beads, cigars, and rum. Even though I have yet had the reason to take Eshu rum, Eshu loves rum. I suggest this practice to all the people who have had me make them "voodoo dolls". This is due to our asking of a favour. Just for a little comparison, in the Roman Catholic Church, worshipers give offerings to Marry on a regular basis also. I hope you see a link.
