Well, what can I
say?
Fate was working over time on the two of us. December 26 1999 I
received
an email with a simple subject line: "Hi". It was from a girl who lived
in Roseville and was just bored and decided to look for interesting
people
on Yahoo. Well, I guess my name came up and we seemed to have a
lot
in common so she wrote me and asked if I would like to chat
sometime.
This wasn't the first time I had been sent a letter like this but
something
was different about this one. So I decided to write back.
As
it turned out Cheryl and I had more than just a little in common.
Throughout the month of January we discussed music, movies, the 80's,
and
how much "WE F*CKING RULED!!!!" I had never met someone who had
such
a great taste for life (plus she was really cute!). By the end of
January I felt like I knew as much about a person as one can know
strictly
talking online so I took a chance. I decided to go in one night
after
hockey practice to where she worked. I wrote her an email to warn
her of my visit but she didn't check her email that day. All I
can
say is that night was one of the most awkward, most exhilarating, most
significant moments of my life. Everyday I day since has been
better
and better. I've never felt so close to another person in my life
and I still want to be closer.
Cheryl, you're the
best
thing that's happened to me and I'm not ever going to give up on
us.
I love you so much.
